What a way to start the year! Days Gone didn't disappoint. Its setting and mechanics are instantly appealing for post-apocalyptic fans. And some of its design even reminded me of RDR2. Though some important (and awesome) stuff is bizarrely hidden in the post-credit content.

Well deserved. One of the best games of the year.
Huge news! We brought home three awards at CEEGA 2026: Best Game, Best Design, and Best Narrative! 🏆 Fun fact: The only other game to ever win this many awards at CEEGA was Cyberpunk 2077. Keeping elite company! 👀 Thank you all so much for your incredible support!

So @XBOX seemingly wants to change public perception around their brand, yet their highest profile game comes out and they can't even scrape up enough reviews for the score on their own platform to show up. This is a pathetic look lmao
For every game I request, the Xbox version is available last. Usually a 2-5 day penalty for playing the Xbox version. A lot of Xbox codes come in a few days after public release, when other counterparts were available two weeks earlier.

Full completion, all mementos gathered, all endings unlocked. What an excellent, *excellent* survival horror metroidvania. Silver Pines wears its inspirations on its sleeve, but does so while still keeping its own identity and standing on its own two feet. More of this please.
At the end of my Gears saga after 7 back-to-back games and what a way to wrap it up! I'd give the cast & emotional highs to Gears 2 & 3, but I think E-Day does everything else better. Clear evolution of most of what made the series special. Super happy I finally got to this IP.

The only problem with Silver Pines is that it's such an obviously night time game that it's hard for me to play it during the day. But damn it if I'm still not gonna give it my best. Enjoy your Saturday everyone!

October Friday nights don't get much better than this tbh
Every single bit of my gaming time this week has been spent on Silver Pines. What an excellent survival horror. Only thing I'm not a fan of so far are the boss fights. Everything else has been fantastic.

Some studios aren't worth keeping. Some are. I begrudgingly accepted @XBOX letting go of Undead Labs. I begrudgingly understand Ninja Theory's situation, though I think they're very talented & would do well if properly managed. I will not understand shutting down Arkane Lyon.

Never happy to see studios close, but I also think we often get too fixated on studio names rather than individuals. Not sure if that info is readily available, but I'd be genuinely curious to see how many of the old BioWare still remained at the studio for these past few years.

Using this Spooktober to think about all the horror, horrorish and horror adjacent games I've ever played and these might be my favourites of the bunch

Xbox holds 4% of US physical game sales, yet a new Microsoft job listing has fans hoping Helix keeps discs. 🔗 wccf.tech/1ledo

If Twin Peaks, Silent Hill & and Alan Wake had a baby it would've come out looking like Silver Pines. Can't believe how hooked I already am after only a few hours. It's haunting, unnerving, mysterious & the gameplay seems perfectly balanced. Didn't expect it to be *this* good 😳

Really excited to finally get to this. Silver Pines has been one of my most anticipated games for the year ever since it was announced. Just the art style and vibes alone 🔥 Perfect for the season and perfect for a handheld.

Also shoutout to the awesome puppy that is THE INCINERATOR. Didn't even gave it the time of day at first, but the moment I started using it it never left my loadout. Such a perfect gun for close quarters even when you're not paying attention lol

Took me a bit longer to go through this one as I've been busy but I still really enjoyed it. Doesn't reach the heights of the OG trilogy for me, but it was still a clear step up from Gears 4. Now it's time to wrap up the series with E-Day.

Haven't had much time to game recently, but when I do, I'm on E-Day. It isn't 'perfect' but what a great game. Some of the stuff it does, it does it better than any other Gears game. Incredible detail in this world.

One thing I hadn't even thought about was that E-Day would actually be focusing on one of my favourite things across films & games: the exact moment when apocalypses begin. And it captures that panic and terror superbly well. Incredibly Act 1 so far, and goddamn that lighting 😳
Mistimed my playthrough of the Gears saga so I couldn't quite get to this day 1. But I'm super excited to finally dive into E-Day 🔥 Feels quite nice to play through an entire series back-to-back and have a brand new release waiting for you at the end of it.

My back-to-back Gears journey continues. Mixed feelings on 4. A good game on its own, but it's the 1st out of the 5 I played so far that didn't feel like a Gears game to me. Besides no matter how great a game may be, I have 0 stomach for Marvel-like lines these days. Good lord.
