FROM BLOOD TRANSFUSIONS TO MOUNTAIN SUMMITS🩸🏔️ A year post-stem cell transplant, was great to be back on @itvcalendar talking recovery, the Three Peaks and stem cell donation. I've been incredibly fortunate. Not everyone finds a match. Please consider joining the register.

Something tells me that maybe, just maybe, a fourth yellow sticker might just shift this mouldy focaccia, @Tesco…

If you’re here for mouldy focaccia, stay for a story: In May 2025, I was diagnosed with bone marrow failure. Months in hospital, daily blood transfusions and a stem cell transplant later, I’m alive. You could save a life too. Check out @AnthonyNolan and @DKMS_uk for more info!

Got discharged after the transplant a year ago, and, well, since then we’ve not stopped. (Actually mad to think about everything that’s happened within that year.)
START SPREADING THE NEWS, I’M LEAVING TODAY✨ All a bit surreal after the last five months but I’ve been formally discharged this evening. Lots of emotions but the overarching one is of thankfulness. Thankful for so much but especially that stranger donating their stem cells 🤍

In the old days Cité Europe in Calais had a Tesco solely selling booze (the days of the cheap Booze Cruise), and I remember my nan would STOCK UPPP on the Value Whisky. Came in useful as they’d be sent Computers for Schools vouchers, and would just give away whole books of them.
This is frying me

Saying that, despite presenting books and books of Computers for Schools vouchers after each trip over the Channel and back, I don’t think we ever saw a new computer???

The planes had horsepower - I had to make do with sheer willpower 😮‍💨✈️💨🏃🏻 Aviation history and running - two of my favourite things together at the Duxford Dash. The 50mph gusts had other ideas though. Running with them? Fine. Against them? Never again. @IWMDuxford @I_W_M 🫡

In 2021, workmen digging a rainwater cistern in Hazeweidestraat, St Juliaan, Belgium spotted human remains in their trench. A few days later an archaeological excavation was undertaken by the Flanders Heritage Agency. Artefacts recovered alongside the remains showed them to be those of a soldier who had served in the 5th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. The Ministry of Defence’s Joint Casualty and Compassionate Centre (JCCC), launched an investigation to name him. Research identified twenty men from the regiment missing in the area, all of whom died in the Spring of 1915. Following genealogical investigation, living descendants of the missing men were traced one by one until eventually DNA testing proved that the remains were those of Lance Corporal Claude Stanley Dell. He was laid to rest last week at Poelcapelle British Cemetery in Belgium. 🔗Discover more on our website 📷Eric Compernolle

THREE PEAKS. I DID IT! 🏔️🤍 A year ago I got the stem cell transplant that saved my life. This weekend I climbed the three highest mountains across the U.K. What a difference a year makes. Too much to be thankful for. Still time to donate, too👇 givewheel.com/fundraising/20…

Scafell Pike’s conquered which means two peaks down! ⛰️ Climbing mountains a year post-stem cell transplant is pretty incredible. Know what else is? Joining the stem cell donor register. Takes minutes. Could save a life. And it's the reason I'm here. @AnthonyNolan | @DKMS_uk

16 months ago - diagnosed with bone marrow failure. Months in hospital isolation on blood transfusions just to survive whilst they searched for a stem cell donor. 12 months yesterday - my stem cell transplant after intensive chemo & conditioning. Today - THE SUMMIT OF BEN NEVIS!

As a reminder- this is all part of mine and my dad’s challenge of the Three Peaks over three days to mark my transplant anniversary - and highlight the amazing life-saving potential of stem cell donation. And we’re fundraising whilst we’re doing it! 👇 givewheel.com/fundraising/20…

15/10/25 - ONE YEAR ON 🤍 I'm still here because a stranger joined the stem cell donor register and gave me a second chance. A year on, I'm one of the lucky ones. But survival shouldn't come down to luck. Please check out @AnthonyNolan and @DKMS_uk for more info 🤍

This day last year: midway through a gruelling intensive six-day course of chemotherapy and immunotherapy ahead of my transplant. Today: getting ready to run a half-marathon. Recovery and resilience looks different for everyone, but this is mine. Let’s go, @GreatEasternRun 🔥

“I WISHED IT WAS ME” 🥺 In the run-up to my first transplant anniversary, I’ve been sitting down with my nearest and dearest to talk about the last year; to get their thoughts and feelings - and hear their experiences. Where best to start than with Betty the Babe… my nan! 🤍
