On the first trip of the new ambulance dedicated to the memory of his son Dor, of blessed memory, who was murdered on October 7 in Be’eri, Magen David Adom (MDA) senior EMT Tzvi Rieder delivered a baby for a woman who had gone into labor. Eight days later, on the eve of Simchat Torah, Tzvi attended the baby’s brit milah (circumcision ceremony). On the morning of October 7, Tzvi went out to save lives, providing medical treatment under fire and evacuating dozens of wounded people. During the day, he learned that his son Dor and Dor’s partner, Techelet Fishbein, of blessed memory, had been murdered in Be’eri. Recently, two ambulances were dedicated at Kibbutz Sa’ad in Dor’s memory, one of them armored against gunfire. At the dedication ceremony, Tzvi said: “We pray that we will merit to transport mainly happy and excited expectant mothers in these ambulances.” A short time later, his prayer was answered. On the very first trip of the new ambulance, Tzvi was dispatched to a woman in labor near Kibbutz Be’eri. Together with his neighbor Hila Barbich, a professional midwife, he prepared to deliver the baby inside the ambulance after they realized they would not make it to the hospital in time. Thankfully, a healthy baby boy was born, and the mother and her son were transported to the hospital. Eight days later, Tzvi attended the baby’s brit milah, where the child was given the name Mevaser Tov, meaning “Bearer of Good News.” “Our baby brought good news to Tzvika. He brought good news on a road that saw so much bloodshed on October 7, and he brought good news to us,” said Penina, the baby’s mother. An emotional Tzvi reflected: “The ambulance dedicated to Dor’s memory helped bring life into the world, and on its very first call.” At MDA, the mission of saving lives continues at all times and in all places, while honoring the memory of those who have fallen through the ongoing work of preserving life.

The brothers deny drugging or raping anyone. My view: they were definitely not nice people, but I thought the idea that they had a conspiracy to traffic people was over the top, and what I thought to be a stretch of the statute. /8

Remember the Hero – Moshe Yedidya Leiter Maj. (res.) Moshe Yedidya Leiter, 39, lived in Kibbutz Ein Tzurim. He was born in Hebron and grew up in the community of Eli. After years as a company commander in the elite Shaldag unit, he left the army at 33 to study medicine at Ariel University, and he was about to begin his hospital training. Alongside his studies, he led a program that prepared ultra-Orthodox young men in computer science for service in the IDF's Unit 8200. Moshe served in the reserves as a company commander in the 697th Battalion of the 551st Brigade. On November 10, 2023, he was killed in battle in Beit Hanoun in northern Gaza, when a booby-trapped tunnel shaft next to a mosque exploded. He fell together with his fellow reservists Sgt. Maj. (res.) Yossi Hershkovitz, Master Sgt. (res.) Matan Meir and Master Sgt. (res.) Sergey Shmerkin. Moshe was laid to rest at the Mount Herzl Military Cemetery in Jerusalem. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Tzippy, their six children, the youngest less than three months old, and his parents, Yechiel and Chani. When the prime minister called to console him, his father said: "My son's blood was not shed in vain." In 2024, Ariel University awarded Moshe his medical degree posthumously, and the program he led for ultra-Orthodox soldiers has since grown from about 80 participants to about 1,000. In November 2025, a Torah scroll was dedicated in his memory. On September 23, 2026, his brother Neria, also a reservist, was seriously wounded in a car-ramming terror attack at a checkpoint on Route 443. After brain surgery at Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem, Neria remained in very serious condition as of early October, and his family asks everyone to keep praying for Neria Dov ben Chana. May his memory forever be a blessing. 🕯️

Serious or moderate? Kipa and HaMechadesh ran "serious," repeating Ichud Hatzalah 1221's release word for word. Walla and JDN ran "moderate," following MDA. Ichud Hatzalah 1221 doesn't say who took him to hospital. We wish the boy a full recovery.
