😂😂😂😂
Happened to my good buddy Vincent
men dm you with ur tweets so their 4 twitter wives don’t see them interacting with you #staywoke
The DCU needs to tighten up its first acts fr
But I will admit I much rather prefer the slow or weak (for lack of better words) first act than a weak third act
Clayface is shot AMAZINGLY
Yes, the villain is a bit generic but it does not affect the narrative at all
I LOVED this movie man
It was such a fun time wtf
God Rihanna’s singing elevates this to insane levels

Received with strong WOM, #DCStudios’s R-rated #Clayface, is ready to top industry’s projections and debut as #1 at US #BoxOffice, as #DCU’s first body horror film, starring #TomRhysHarries, grossed solid 10.4M on FRI Opening Day, including 3.5M THU Previews (vs #KravenTheHunter’s 4.8M ,#Smile 8.2M, #IronLung’s 9M, #LongLegs 10M, #BlackPhone2’s 11M, #TheExorcistBeliever 11.8M, #TheSuicideSquad’s 12.1M, #OtherMommy’s 12.6M. #BirdsOfPrey’s 13M, #Scream5’s 13.4M)
Eyeing a 24M-28M 3-day opening weekend in the US alone, a solid start for the CBM Horror carrying a 44M production price-tag not including marketing.
No break my penis o.
Drag me through mud - through clay if you have to - but folks, Clayface (🌟🌟🌟🌟) is one damn good -damn disgusting - movie. Despite my skepticism going in, this movie works. For nearly two hours, I squirmed in my seat. I tucked my head into my sweatshirt. I held on to this ride every step of the way. This is the body horror October flick I hoped it would be. Does the story and dialogue leave a bit to be desired? For sure. But a powerhouse performance from Tom Rhys Harries and a true descent into villainy - not anti-heroism, but true, brutal, villainy - is exactly what I went to the theater for last night. God only knows what the plan is over at DC, or if we’ll see this version of the character again in this decade, but for now, I’m thrilled this movie exists.
The story here follows pretty boy actor, Matt Hagen (Harries), who is on top of the world as a leading man with an Oscar nomination. On one fateful celebratory night, he takes the wrong lady to bed, and finds himself in the clutches of the mob, who hit the star right where it hurts - his face. As the horrific disfigurement leads to half a dozen unsuccessful facial reconstruction surgeries, the mob bribes the cops and runs a smear campaign to have Hagen painted as the bad guy. This is Gotham City, after all. Unable to attain justice and shut out from his Hollywood career, Hagen resorts to the experimental medicine practices of Dr. Caitlin Bates (Naomi Ackie). Bates injects Hagen’s cells with a nanite treatment that reorganizes his cellular structure, allowing him to heal and return to normal. Complications with the treatment and Hagen’s thirst for revenge against those who wronged him are set on a monstrous collision course.
The gamble of taking a C-Tier relatively unknown Batman villain and making him the star of a horror movie paid off here, largely thanks to Harries’ performance. He plays Hagen with such a quiet intensity and a permanent chip on his shoulder, so much so that when his reputation is tarnished, you’re never quite sure where the line is between fact and fiction. He’s a pot that could boil over at any given moment. And let’s be real, the characters in this film are 99% average regular unremarkable everyday citizens and 1% giant unstoppable clay blob monster. That is to say, there is nothing stopping Hagen except himself; no one in this movie stands a chance. The only actual tension here comes from how much Hagen is willing to unleash and when. That central conflict doesn’t land without the character work Harries puts in.
The body horror and shape-shifting elements of the film are so effectively done that it makes me see past any issues with regard to script or pacing. Once the shape-shifting is introduced, it gives a handful of smaller actors the chance to play the villain, and they all hit it out of the park. I never doubt them for a second, and at one point, I started looking for Clayface in every side character. Additionally, the horrific nature of Hagen’s body working against him leads to a stomach-churning sequence in an airplane bathroom, while his mastery of his newfound powers leads to the movie’s strongest sequence in a night club. In a time where superhero movies are a dime a dozen, Clayface used a unique toolbox to create something that really felt different, something that could only work with this character.
Clayface is the movie to see this Halloween season. Go see Hagen lose his face, and uncover the real horror he finds underneath it. It’s ugly stuff, and I mean that as the highest compliment.

And #DCStudios seems to have pulled it off, as moviegoers are melted by #DCU’s first R-rated body horror #CLAYFACE, giving the villain an SPECTACULAR A- #CinemaScore, extremely rare for horrors, let alone R-rated ones, and best ever for body horror films.
Not only that, it’s one of the best scores for a DC film since Nolan’s #TDK trilogy, despite being R-rated, on par with #SUPERMAN, #TheBatman, #Aquaman & #ManOfSteel’s A-, only below #WonderWoman & #Shazam’s A.
