I’ve just updated my animation reel — which felt like a good chance to share a bit more about what I do.✨
The reel is a curated selection of projects I’ve worked on over the years, spanning original content, personal work and advertising for clients such as Lollapalooza, Nike, Mercedes, Google, etc. Acting in roles such as director, animator, and concept artist.
Some of these projects have been recognized with awards like: 🏆
- Cannes Film Festival 2012 in Design and Film Craft
- Gold award - Wave Festival 2014
- Shanghai Golden Lions Festival 2018 - Best Animation

A teaser poster for our first manga in the Roly Poly universe, in partnership with our community.
Excited to be drawing new chapters of this project that I'm so in love with, especially since it's a character we created with our fanbase. Thanks everyone! 🧡

Sharing an album cover artwork I made for Cadu Tenorio, a Brazilian music artist/friend :) I love working with artists I admire and who trust me to experiment with unusual graphic solutions 🥰

Sharing some artwork I did for @NetflixBrasil back in 2018 to promote their 3% series 🌟
THB is a comic series by the legendary artist (and good friend) Paul Pope (@PULPH0PE), also known as Comics Destroyer. 🧡
At the time, he was looking to adapt the comic into an animated series. I offered to help by creating an animated teaser. The jumping scene is still one of my favorite shots I've ever animated. Sadly, the project didn’t move forward, so the animation remained a rough sketch — but it’s still very special to me.

Visual experimentation is one of the most exciting parts of making a project.
Finding the right graphic language to match the story and concept ain't easy🎨✨
Daniel Semanas spent around 8 months shaping the ROLY✶POLY look:
sketching, tweaking proportions, testing colors.....
until it clicked 💫
This illustration is one of the first finished tests.
Back then, the lines were bolder, the perspective more exaggerated, and the vibe more cartoonish.
What do you think of this early version? 👀

Flofló :
An illustration I made in Procreate in honor of my beloved kitty FLora, also known as Flofló. Containing her favorite toy, her wet food and all her feline charisma 😻
After the success of the Anna Bee series for MTV Brazil, the channel invited me to create a series of vignettes for their network IDs.
They gave me total creative freedom, which encouraged me to experiment with different illustration and animation styles — an experience that played a huge role in shaping my portfolio. Here is one ✨

We’re working on a short manga together with our community. Your choices will shape the story of this character 👇
