16.10.26 The poker game is underway,
Serena again shuffles the cards & deals.
Claudette puts on a visor cap & it's game on.

16.10.26 Joe asks Claudette if she's sure her pension can stretch that far? She informs him... I struck lucky at a little tournament recently, I'm sure I'll cope & pulls out an envelope full of cash.
Aaron & Sarah enjoy the shocked faces of Joe & Jai. Serena declares £200 it is.
16.10.26 Robert has his squad behind him or circle of trust as he calls them, the players deliberate on what the buy in should start at... Serena asks £10? Robert suggests £20, Jai says make it &100. Claudette offers to get a tape measure out if it'll save time! 🤭 & says £200!
16.10.26 Joe says if he gets a whiff of any funny business the game is over, OK? Claudette accuses him of making excuses already, scared you'll lose? Joe says.... Never trust a Dingle, never trust a Sugden. Simple rules to live by. Joe then returns the cards, he's ready to play.
16.10.26 Joe takes issue with Serena dealing the cards, he says he may as well just give his money away. Joe insists on shuffling the cards himself first. Aaron offers to do it. Jai tells him, no chance! Serena reminds him she's an ex-cop & Sarah adds, we're not all cheats!
16.10.26 Jai points out to Robert the Hide, a place he used to work, is looking 'distressed'. Robert says it's in the middle of a refurb & it'll look completely different when it reopens. Joe snaps at Claudette, that she's late! He's not so friendly to her as he was yesterday.
16.10.26 Joe is confident Claudette will soon see she's out of her league & says she's not a threat. Robert too dismisses her as a little old lady. But Jai's not falling for that again. Claudette arrives, asking if she's in the right place? Adding, she gets so confused sometimes!
16.10.26 While Aaron, Sarah & Serena are setting up, the poker players begin arriving for the game, a lone table plus drinks & crisps are in full supply. Jai, Joe & Robert are discussing their concerns about Claudette. Jai points out she cleaned her own son of every penny he had.
16.10.26 Robert & Serena have a quick chat, following the practice poker game. Serena asks him if he's sure about this? Adding, it's not too late to back out. Robert tells her... yeah, if we stick to the plan, we might just pull this off.... But it's clear he's nervous.
16.10.26 After hearing Claudette is in the poker game, Kev says she's a lioness, she's absolutely unbeatable. Kev hollers over to Robert, he'll swerve that after all. Sarah rebuffs Charity's attempt to strike up a conversation & she turns to Aaron & they agree they should go.
16.10.26 Kev says the man he attacked in prison looked at him funny. Robert tells him that was his pokerface! Kev says anyway, he's in much more zen place now. Sarah calls him over & informs him Joe & Jai are playing, this doesn't dissuade him, but then he hears Claudette is too.
16.10.26 Robert is in the pub with Serena having a practice session ahead of the poker game. Kev is curious & decides he wants in on the game, Robert tells him, no you'll cheat. Kev insists he won't. Robert reminds him he broke Willy McFarlan's jaw over a poker game in prison.
So we go from Farm Wars (which turned out to be practically nothing) to restaurant wars (which will also be nothing).
Why do they start stories only to wrap them up too quickly such as Joe burying Ruby alive, with no consequences for Joe or Ruby. #Emmerdale

Robert reluctantly gives Kev a shot at cooking some steaks.
Impressed by them, Robert gives Kev a chance at the Smoke House, despite Aaron's grievances. Lewis is proud of him.

Although I hate this because it's hard to believe Robert would be so dismissive of Aaron's feelings about this it's giving Robert working with Rebecca 2017 vibes which also upset Aaron. But there should've been growth by Robert. I'm glad Aaron's objections are being acknowledged.

Not to mention trying to kill Aaron twice & threatening to kill him several times before that holding them hostage with a sword. I hate how they don't allow Kev to ever beheld to account... It's OK... because he's funny!
Spoilers: So Kev is going to work at the Hide/Smokehouse ugh. I guess it's for plot because the Nicola/Kev thing they're clearly building up to at least let Jimmy go cold first geez! Vic will probably return take over & Kev goes back to the cafe. But this is insensitive to Aaron.
