My second free bet for you all this week for UFC 333 is a big one. Give me Petr Yan and still champion! Now look don’t get me wrong merab is a solid fighter and is good at what he does. He won the belt for a reason and defended it for a reason. Main reason why I’m backing Petr here is for a couple of reasons: One - I think Petr is the more well rounded fighter here - he is a solid striker and can mix in takedowns as well. He also has solid takedown defense. We saw how effective he was last fight fully on point no broken arm. Even if he does get taken down I don’t see it keeping him there. Two - a big red flag to me was what Merab said after the last fight. “When I realized I couldn’t take him down, I just wanted to have fun”. That does not to me embody someone who is mentally strong. If your first instinct when takedowns don’t work is to just have fun that’s a massive red flag to me. That statement indicated to me that he mentally checked out when going got tough. Lastly - this is a big one that I don’t see talked about a lot… that is the fact that Merab has a broken nose. He admitted that he was told to get surgery but if he did he’d be out for a year. This is another massive red flag to me. Can’t trust the guy to be 100% Give me Petr Yan to solidify himself as the greatest bantamweight on the planet. Show some ❤️ if you tailing 🫡
