As a child, I was punished for not knowing things, for being wrong, etc. I became someone who would stay where I KNEW I would do well. I shied away from subjects that were my weak points. If I didn’t immediately understand it, I told myself I was stupid, then avoided it.

In the past, the discomfort would intertwine itself throughout every bit of my being. Physically, mentally, spiritually. I would drown again and again. That doesn’t happen anymore.
