The first 5-star review for my book Android Flamenco has just popped up. Mark says it "offers both a respite from the harsh realities of everyday life, while also holding up a mirror to them, unflinching in his gaze yet offering a warm embrace."

PLEASE ask your local library to order a copy of my book Android Flamenco, thank you. "Darrell Epp's work has been praised by literary legends such as William Peter Blatty (The Exorcist) and Rudy Wurlitzer (Two-Lane Blacktop, Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid). Android Flamenco throbs with doomsday meteors and laugh tracks as it toasts absent friends, curses the darkness, and turns a spent match head into a salvific firecracker."

There's so much interesting stuff in Stoker's novel. So many layers. There's a class thing. Dracula is the old landed aristocracy - decadent but seductive and indifferent to middle-class morality. Dracula's enemies are the new aristocracy of money and middle-class respectability. There's the Old Knowledge vs the New Technocratic Knowledge. And Dracula is a threat because he undermines middle-class respectability. He offers forbidden pleasures. He does not hunt Lucy and Mina. It is a seduction.
