#BenchFire The Angeles National Forest’s Little Tujunga Hotshots are part of the Southern California firefighters mobilized to help battle the numerous wildfires plaguing the Northwest. Little Tujunga is currently assigned to the 60,271-acre Bench Fire outside of Warm Springs, Oregon. The Little Tujunga Hotshots are based just north of Lake View Terrace in Los Angeles. Angeles NF’s Dalton Hotshots are mobilizing to Redmond Oregon and will be responding to the rash of lightning caused fires in Oregon. The Dalton Hotshots formed in 1953, are one of four hotshot crews on the Angeles National Forest (Dalton, Little Tujunga, Bear Divide and Valyermo.) They adopted their name from the Big Dalton Canyon north of Glendora. Hotshot crews respond on a moment’s notice to fight fires throughout the USA, mobilized by the Southern California Geographic Area Coordination Center in nearby Riverside.
