It's obvious she's relying on familiar far-left buzzwords about Israel, even though the reality is far more complicated than the picture she's trying to paint. But I'll take a different approach here. Paltrow is promoting a private business. I don't actually think there's something inherently wrong with working your profession. Yes even in Nazi Germany. If you're not promoting the regime or participating in its crimes, simply running a business or going about your daily life isn't, by itself, a moral failing. People often forget that Nazi Germany was also a country inhabited by ordinary people. Grocery stores still sold groceries. Businesses still operated. Everyday life continued, even under an evil government. The existence of normal human activity doesn't excuse atrocities, but neither does it erase the humanity of those living through that reality. I think we're all susceptible to creating moral cartoons that flatten complex societies into simplistic narratives. In Israel's case, that's a particularly common tendency. It allows people to detach from the fact that, whatever they think about the war or government policy, Israel is still a country made up of individuals living ordinary lives. The irony is that we're often encouraged to extend this exact nuance to Palestinians: to see them as individuals rather than as extensions of their leaders or political movements. That same principle should apply consistently to everyone.
It’s like advertising luxury villas in Nazi germany during peak Holocaust. So shameful

I'm thick-skinned. It doesn't really get to me. But today was quite remarkable. Every time I refreshed Twitter, there were dozens of tweets, quotes, replies, and mentions telling me I'm a vile Jew who deserves to die in the most horrible way imaginable. Judging by today's events, statistically, many of you reading this will probably enjoy this little rant and wish I'd met a worse fate. However, I'm writing for the rest. My friends and sane foes. Look at the cesspool of keyboard warriors who don't even blink before spewing the most toxic comments at someone they've never met for nothing more than sharing a point of view. I'm always careful not to be too harsh with my snarkiness. The next person might not be as mentally resilient as I am. And if the flood of notifications caused me to miss some reasonable arguments from people looking for an honest exchange, try me again tomorrow when things have cooled down.

We don't have schools. We don't go to the office. We don't have the simplest of civil services. We're rushing to shelters. We're fearing for our lives in the wake of a deadly regime firing rockets on our houses. Why are we supposed to risk lives aiding the proxy enemy while the enemy fires at us. Have you completely lost your mind?

I am tweeting from Israel! @owenjonesjourno accuses me of being too close to the events. God forbid I tweet from London. Owen, let's get two things straight: 1. Hamas didn't have to attack on October 7. They didn't have to take Israeli hostages. They didn't have to hide them in tunnels. They didn't have to hide in those tunnels with them, ensuring that the IDF would have to go through Gaza's civilian population to reach them. You've been writing about this conflict for so long—how can you miss such a fundamental strategic element of your allies' actions? I would argue that you don't respect them enough to grant them any agency. You simply see them as moral cartoons whose sole purpose is to contrast with the Jews. 2. I did not ask for, nor do I need, your sympathy. My statement was meant to illustrate the utter madness of asking someone to help the enemy while that enemy is actively shooting at them—before even asking the first party to stop shooting. You've built your entire shtick around the idea that Jews are always the villains, and it's becoming absurd.
This man is tweeting from Israel. He lives a few miles from Gaza, which his state has reduced to apocalyptic rubble. He is asking for sympathy on the grounds that his life is being disrupted. He does so in support of starving the survivors of Gaza. What do you even say!

Am Yisrael Chai is older than the State of Israel. Older than Eurovision. Older than your account. Holocaust survivors said it at Bergen-Belsen in 1945. Soviet Jews said it under the KGB. My family said it in Iraq for generations. We’ve been saying it for 3,000 years and we’ll be saying it long after this tweet is deleted. “The Jewish people live” is only political to people who wish we didn’t.

Everything @afalkhatib says here 💯
Eyal Waldman is a decent and honorable man whom I have gotten to know closely since October 7, and was one of the first Israelis to reach out to me online once I had grown a presence following the tragedy of my family’s killing in Gaza by Israeli airstrikes. Despite losing his daughter to Hamas’s heinous massacre on October 7, he has been relentlessly pursuing radically pragmatic initiatives, and we have both been in multiple spaces, conferences, events, and arenas to discuss ways in which Palestinians and Israelis can both have safety, security, self-determination, and freedom. He not only supports peace and the inevitable need to establish a Palestinian self-rule because it is the moral thing to do, but he also recognizes it is imperative for protecting Israel’s long-term interests and needs as a Jewish and democratic state. The blind hatred by the so-called “pro-Palestine” activists against Eyal here is typical behavior of brownshirt-esque militias who simply hear someone’s identity and react blindly despite his goodwill gesture and outreach. The “pro-Palestine” mafia fails to appreciate that there will never be a free or independent Palestine without making alliances with broad segments in Israel, including in government, civil society, business, and faith communities. You don’t have to agree with everything Eyal says or believes to acknowledge that he is a decent, honorable, and a class-A human being, the embodiment of pursuing peace and reconciliation across entrenched narratives and deep personal trauma.

There's a discourse going on Twitter right now about the inclusion or lack thereof Arab minorities in the Israeli parliament. The claim is that parties are racist or far-right extremists if they deliberately refuse to cooperate with the Arab parties, and Liberal saints if they do. Now I have zero problem with Arab parliament members and historically voted for parties who regularly placed Arab politicians in prime positions for parliaments seats (shout-out Issawi Frej). There had always been very good Arab parliament members, who fought hard for their communities as well as the entire public. The Irony is that critics do not want Arabs, liberals want the current Arab-lead parties, which are by virtue right-wing conservatives. The liberal move isn't the inclusion of illiberal parties, but rather the inclusion of liberal individuals regardless of race or sector
Israel’s main center-left party, Democrats, coming out strongly and boldly in favor of partnership with the country’s Arab citizens

Americans have got to stop playing that game. What does it mean that a wannabe murderer liked a post? Why would it nullify the post or the author? Same as that time that you guys argued about who Charlie Kirk liked after he died. The thing and its opposite. Both ed-hominem on scale

Can you imagine a so called progressive boasting about the Nazis using a quote of theirs and a photo of them on a sponsored billboard to promote fascism? I mean that would never happen. It would be like a gay man boasting about being quoted on a billboard by the fascist Islamic Republic in Iran to promote homophobic fascists… oh.
They should have emailed me for an up-to-date picture!
