Today we sent a clear message that if the duopoly do not move at pace to open wholesale access to competitors on fair terms - our regulatory changes will make it happen for them. We are not afraid to unlock the stockroom door.

When the alternative wants to add barriers and limit access, you can trust the party that decriminalised abortion and removed prescription fees. Want to protect women’s healthcare? Vote Labour.

Dropping the $5 prescription charge: Many people seem confused about this. It’s aims to reduce hospitalisations and time staying there: otago.ac.nz/news/news/otago0… Much better to ensure people don’t end up there unnecessarily. It also helps lighten the load on the hospitals. #NZpol

Backed by @otago research. We know the incredible difference this will make to low and modest income New Zealanders.
When I was a doctor I found it incredibly frustrating that the co-payment stopped some of my patients from getting the medicines they needed to stay well and stay out of hospital. Today's announcement means that three million people will benefit from free access to medicine.

We are backing NZ’s game development sector and encouraging more Kiwis into tech jobs. That’s why we’ve introduced a 20% rebate for game development studios to attract and retain developers to operate right here and provide a long-term incentive to build their business in NZ.

Photo from the day I met Jacinda Ardern in Oamaru (note that is not me, just a bloke who looks vaguely like me). She was utterly charming. Could not have imagined the absolute storm she was going to have to deal with. Grateful she was our leader through Covid. Deserves a break.
