Even on a smaller scale. Say Jazz Chisholm boots a groundball he shouldnā€™t have booted. Then Boone calls him into the office and reams him out about it. What does that actually do to help him field the next one? Nothing. Itā€™s still the same player with the same skills in the same situation. The words donā€™t have any real impact. The player just needs to make the play.

At one point, we had 30-something high schools in our Dothan Eagle sports coverage area. We used to be able to get 5 writers and 1-2 correspondents to these games. Now we have one dedicated writer. A LOT of great stories are being missed and the community suffers.

My father, Big Sav, is in his last days, so I took these pictures from his Wall of Fame. So many memories, from his days as an All-State player at Murphy HS in Mobile in the 1950ā€™s to Super Bowl XXXV, everything in between and up through Sundayā€™s @RamsNFL win. A life well-lived!

Georgia 20, Alabama 17. Final. We can complain about calls/fumbles that didn't go our way. Great game between the two best teams in the SEC. Georgia is more veteran and got us this time. Makes next week at Tennessee a HUGE game. Beat the Vols and everything is still fine.
