I see from 15 February Trading 212 will facilitate portfolio transfers - are they now the cheapest/best option for investors?

"every euro in the till means the lights stay on" - lots of families need every euro they have. Local businesses like this are not entitled to people's money, especially when they charge over the odds. m.independent.ie/business/ir…

Anti-social scumbags have had the run of the country for a long time now. Anti social behaviour has long been tolerated - just try walking around certain parts of Dublin. This tolerance leads to events like last night

British American Tobacco has generated much comment - seems decent value but there are of course moral questions like other sin stocks.

With a bit of luck new protocol deal will finally close the chapter on incessant Brexit chatter. On another point, I note that the FTSE has crashed and Britain slid into the sea never to be seen again as a result of that calamitous decision.

Care should be taken with commentary like this. Not all those who call a country their home necessarily consider themselves the nationality of that country. Something rather unsavoury about "claiming" people like this.
One in five people living in Ireland was born outside of the State. That includes me, my sisters and thousands like us born to Irish emigrant parents. All those who have chosen to make Ireland their home are as Irish as we are.

:-( Tough times. Lots of EU residents will be getting these notifications when they try and purchase shares in Investment Trusts

I live close to the border - what types of goods that will "stay in NI" 😉 will be cheaper than their southern equivalents?
Replying to @tconnellyRTE
2/ "We've been proposing a so-called Express Lane for the goods which are to stay in NI which have no risk of making it into the EU single market.

🚨🚨🚨EXCLUSIVE: Irish Times Journalist Kitty Holland has admitted to Gript Media that she "did not witness" an attack on a migrant camp in Ashtown, Dublin, contradicting much of the media coverage this week, including that of her own newspaper: gript.ie/i-never-said-i-witn…

Some very good news. Smithson have informed me that they will be producing an EU PRIIPS KID to enable Smithson Investment Trust PLC to continue to be available for sale in Ireland/EU. Hopefully other investment companies will do so too (paging @DuncanMacInnes8 👀)

Any word if brokers have/are restricting purchases (for EU residents) of UK investment companies given PRIIPS divergence etc? Or if any companies plan to continue to comply with relevant regs to ensure their product remains available to EU residents? @annabelbrodies

So many young Irish people saying they can "never buy a home even on good wages". Not only is this fatalistic attitude unhealthy, it's incorrect. May not being able to get first home in their chosen area in Dublin, but there are other places to look.

Commentators who know better but pound the "you'll never get a house" drum have a lot to answer for imo, for the damage they do.
