My job at @CBSSports involves watching a ton of college basketball and football. And I eat free Chick-fil-A thanks to my wife. 15-year old me is quite proud.

Our annual @CBSSportsCBB list of the top 101 players is LIVE.
The @SEC leads all leagues w/ 30 players. Seniors are the most populated class (38 selections).
Teams with the most players on the list: Duke, Florida, Illinois, Michigan, St. John's, Texas.

A true college football resume ranking. Wins. Losses. Locations. Nothing else.
The numbers below each team = how many more victories they have vs. what the average No. 25 ranked team would have against the same schedule.
Notable exclusions: Georgia is No. 18, unbeaten Utah is No. 20 (best win = at Iowa State)

Appreciate the engagement on this.
If/when Kentucky/Mississippi State falter, so will Alabama's resume.
As it stands, Tide are one of two CFB teams with two top-25 road wins. Bama's resume ceiling is also limited moving forward because its got a bunch of uselessness coming (A&M, Vandy, Chattanooga).

Yes.
If it were based on the opponent's power rating, a win at Bama would be more valuable than a win at UK.
I don't think the non-SEC masses are ready for that level of "bias."
So, it's based on the CBS Sports 138, which is more of a traditional ranking. Bama 12, UK 13.
It's a spin on CBB's WAB, which is vital in comparing teams with wildly different schedules around the bubble.
Something like this is desperately needed for the 24-team CFP era.
Not out here saying if the CFP committee met today that it should put Bama at No. 3. It's a tool.

Average top 25 is a flawed standard unless your goal is just to establish a cutoff around #13. Which more or less is what we’re doing in this sport now so I guess fair but you should educate people on that context

BYU is...
-- one of three teams in CFB with four wins over top-60 opposition (using CBS Sports 138)
-- one of only six with two wins vs. top 25 teams (Notre Dame/Arizona).
-- of those six (^) It's also the only one without a loss.
Tide are one of two teams in college football with two top-25 road wins (UK/MsSt). Ohio State is the other.
Bama is one of four teams with 4 victories vs. top-65 opposition (BYU, Houston and Kentucky are the others).
Losses to No. 4 UGA/at No. 10 Tennessee aren't killers.

So this is a partial ranking, the part for strength of schedule. 2 loss Alabama ranked 3rd is dumb.
Trust me, any perceived SEC bias in this would be significantly worse if I used actual power ratings instead of the CBS Sports 138.

Interesting except that again SEC is valuated to high as strength of schedule conference, therefore, Texas and Florida wouldn’t be ranked so high with two losses.
Alabama has the No. 3 resume. It's actually No. 12 in the CBS Sports 138, which is the baseline.
But sure, it's a huge win. It means enough to keep Georgia in the top 20 even after a home loss against an unranked team.
What else here makes you think Georgia should be above any of the teams in the top 15?
W vs. Tennessee State
W vs. No. 125 Western Kentucky
W @ No. 81 Arkansas
W vs. No. 40 Oklahoma
W vs. No. 88 Vanderbilt
W @ No. 12 Alabama
L vs. No. 30 Auburn

Beating your 3rd ranked team apparently means nothing? Any list that excludes Georgia from a top 15 goes straight to report spam
This week's QBPR is out.

This is the one that’s actually 100% ridiculous. Wouldn’t even be eligible under 5 for 5!

According to CBS Sports research, Texas is the 1st team since 1961 to enter a game as No. 1 and proceed to lose their next two games each against unranked opponents.
