It’s been an extraordinary year in many ways and harvest is proving no different. We cut winter barley last week, our earliest ever start, and today we have finished Osr and have started cutting winter oats at 13.2% moisture. It’s the 7th of July and there is no rain forecast

The huge increase in #skylarks across #sussex low land, @sdnpa & many other parts of Uk farmland should be celebrated more. They used to be unusual to see but now everywhere in numbers, the facts are on the farms not in the media. @NESussexandKent

With today’s Supreme Court ruling, we urge the administration to work swiftly to find other ways to resolve trade disputes & finalize recently announced trade frameworks. America’s farmers & ranchers need stability to ensure families across America can put food on their tables.
As someone who has suffered from 1000’s of deer on my farm this is the right move. The damage to crops and wildlife from high deer numbers is devastating.

Today we met with the @NFUtweets, its board chairs, @UFUHQ, @NFUCymru and @NatPigAssoc to discuss issues facing the farming sector including trade, growth and investment and support schemes as part of our future of farming inquiry 👇
The @NFUtweets has long argued for a balanced approach in Britains uplands and continually declining sheep numbers is not the answer. This study shows the long term carbon value of grazing sheep whilst feeding the nation manchester.ac.uk/about/news/…
Great to meet and listen to members concerns @NFUNotts in Newark this week. We need to be united as an industry and getting on the road to hear from farmers on the ground and showing how the NFU is helping them is vital. #backbritishfarming

This is a major concession from the Government and should be welcomed as such. After a tough year, farmers and their supporters finally have a reason to give cheers this Christmas.

Government changes to the threshold of APR/BPR are recognition of an impossible situation for working family farms. This will bring real relief to people who should never have been put in such a difficult position. A really welcome Christmas announcement from @DefraGovUK and @EmmaforWycombe We should all recognise they have listened

Brilliant questioning from the Liason Committee today. Everyone can see the government have to remove the anti forestalling clause from the finance bill. When will they realise?
Our Chair @amcarmichaelMP asked the Prime Minister why he hasn’t listened to MPs calling for a rethink on inheritance tax changes. 👇
