A post on Facebook from a graduate blaming us for his lack of free time due to a determination to build his coding skills and find work as a developer. Teaching a much sought after skill that often becomes an engaging hobby is one thing we’re happy to take the blame for! 👍

Code4000 see @TLM (The Last Mile) as a highly successful model for combating recidivism, a model that views skills training as only one piece of the reducing re-offending jigsaw, and where support into employment upon release is the key to breaking the cycle of crime.

This quarter we were disappointed to record our first "unknown" ETE outcomes: we have been unable to contact 3 graduates who left prison during the Covid-19 crisis. Despite this, 83% of our graduates continue to engage in positive activity; 39% in employment in the tech-sector.

Primarily we teach tech, but we also value and encourage those skills that empower our students to speak their mind. Those with lived experience of prison know the score, what better people to ask to find out what works and what doesn't? #teachingtechchanginglives #citizenship

We often share statistics to illustrate the impact we have on the lives of our students, but the work we do goes beyond mere numbers. Helping real people in their real lives is at the core of our mission to change those lives through learning to code! #teachingtechchanginglives
