I don’t film at 24mm and crop in post. I don’t film at f8/11 where everything is in focus. I film near f2.8 or faster. I also pull focus manually for sports. However, I constantly remind myself, “They don’t pay you to miss” and to “aim small, miss small.”
Someone asked me what is it that I do as a freelancer. Well...Sales, IT, Project Manager, DP, Director, Producer, Customer Support, Collections, Editor, Customer Success, Social Media Manager, DIT, Sound Recorder, Colorist, Billing all wrapped into one with no off hours.
If you really want to challenge yourself, pull focus for all sports events at f2.8 because your RED is telling you your underexposed in nearly all high school settings. I've also done it at T1.5 earlier in my career.

I’m incredibly fortunate year in and year out to be able to capture Homecoming Week at Lincoln-Way West. It’s such a fun week with a heavy dose of school spirit that helps make my job so easy to capture. Thank you for another great week LWW. 🙏🏻
Some moments feel like a movie. 🎥🧡✨
We can’t thank @DeSandoLLC enough for once again turning our Homecoming memories into something we can watch over and over again.

The perfect ending to a week in paradise! 🎥🌴🧡

After tonight I've learned that at some point f1.2 lenses will need to be in my kit. You'd think f1.8 is fast enough until it isn't.
