Phase II of our research is finally done 🎉
The team is working on an academic paper to publish the results, but in the meantime, we wanted to share some insights with the DeSci community ⬇️
Not so DAOish?
Highlight: Even thought 38 projects (78%) have a designed org structure, the typical DAO features are missing in most DeSci teams. These organizations are either progressively decentralizing or they opted not to implement things like tokens or on-chain voting.
We'll share the rest of the results and the discussion in the upcoming paper we're preparing.

Why are we doing this DeSci study?
Because there is an appetite for learning from one another. 42% of projects that we surveyed desired future efforts to explore open collaboration and partnerships, hoping to see more projects working in the open and avoiding siloing

An interesting finding from our study is that despite men being more present than women in leadership positions in DeSci, the space has considerably more women participation in leadership positions.

DeSci currently heavily focuses its efforts on North America and Europe, with less focus on the rest of the regions.
This is why we are making an extra effort to reach out to projects in LATAM, Africa, and Asia during phase 2 of our study.
Last year, we published our first report covering GG15 DeSci round.
