what the fuck is happening
The new scream sounds like Link braced himself for the jump, rather than the sheer shock and blood curdling surprise of the original, where it sounds like he fell by mistake. I like it!

Miyamoto believes AI will not make human creativity obsolete:
“Looking back at past designs, there are some that were created merely by copying and pasting. Yet, such work rarely stands the test of time; it lacks the individual’s particular design intention.
Because the process relies on an individual’s intent, with the computer serving as an assistant for the labor, I believe that even as technology continues to evolve, and even if AI were to eventually handle everything, there will always be a role left for us to play.”

Miyamoto discusses what the Order of Culture award means to him:
"I feel quite embarrassed, to be honest, but I am truly honored to have been chosen for such a prestigious award.
As I often say, I do not create games all by myself. This award is the result of the work I have done alongside many others, and I accept it as a representative of that entire team.
Lately, in particular, I have had the opportunity to collaborate with people from fields beyond just video games—such as on "Super Nintendo World" at Universal Studios Japan and various film-related projects. I would like to share the joy of this award with all of them.
Recently, there have been several milestones, such as the 40th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda, and I myself have often mentioned that it has been 45 years since I began making games. However, when I really think about it—having joined Nintendo in 1977 and immediately becoming involved in game development—it has actually been 50 years. Since "50 years" is a nice, round number, I’ll use that figure today.
Fifty years ago, I began working in a medium called "games"—a medium whose very nature was, at the time, not even clearly defined. I have been able to continue this work ever since. I believe I am receiving this recognition precisely because I was there from the very dawn of the industry, and I feel that I have led a very lucky life."

Absolutely brutal that, a day after Mass Effect 4 is revealed to be dead, a trailer leaks and shows it looking good. This is basically emotional terrorism.

The BioWare news is heartbreaking and infuriating in equal measure. That teams games pioneered choice-based storytelling in a way that fundamentally shaped games as we know them. It deserved that one last shot at Mass Effect. Such a shame.
10 years ago! 10 YEARS AGO??? Horrible. Filthy. Nasty.

Don't let billionaires convince you slop is the future. They're used to managing & directing, not making things themselves. Of course they can't see the difference. They don't understand your love for the craft. Keep making personal, beautiful games.
You've got my support 💖
Year and half until this headline is “The movie is a unique story set in the Mouthwashing universe”.
A ‘MOUTHWASHING’ movie is reportedly in the works at Sony.
A film adaptation of a psychological horror game that follows a stranded spaceship crew descending into madness.

Very shocking to hear film studio is working on creative projects. File it next to my other favourite headline: “Actor would love to play role”.
Lucasfilm Animation is reportedly working on an “Unannounced Series.”

They’re basically doubling my yearly streaming bill to pay for a service I haven’t used in years.
I couldn’t give a fuck if the BBC goes under so why should I pay for it to use unconnected American owned services.
