Unbelievably. Imagine the rage and horror of Ukrainians every day as Russia attacks their people and their nation while the wealthy free world that surrounds them, that they desperately want to be a part of, that could stop it, refuses to act.
ZELENSKYY: Russia started war, committed war crimes, occupied part of our country. It's not just land — it's homes, people's lives. They stole childhood from our children. That's why, when we are asked what compromises we are ready to make, it sounds UNBELIEVABLY STRANGE to us.

The America they want to make great again turns out to be Salem, Mass. circa 1692.
Christian nationalist pastor Dale Partridge declares that "one of America's biggest threats is white liberal women," which is why "we must, as a nation, repeal the 19th Amendment": "The majority of women are not capable of responsible voting."

It's sabotage meant to wreck America as an economic and every other kind of global power. It's time to accept that fact.
Donald Trump has committed the most profound, harmful and unnecessary economic error in the modern era. Almost everything he said—on history, economics and the technicalities of trade—was utterly deluded econ.st/4j8e0DG

It seems clear to me that when government officials use Signal, WhatsApp, private servers etc to communicate about government business, they are doing so in order to avoid transparency laws. That should be a scandal even if a reporter isn’t accidentally added to the group chat.

My four-year-old gets anxious whenever he has to take his nap in the daycare’s makeshift bomb shelter, which is almost daily. He also gets anxious whenever we wake him up in the middle of the night to take him to the bathroom because there are explosions outside our home. STFU.
Today while walking my 3 year old daughter a group of “Slava Ukraini” protesters followed us around and shouted as my daughter grew increasingly anxious and scared. I decided to speak with the protesters in the hopes that I could trade a few minutes of conversation for them leaving my toddler alone. (Nearly all of them agreed.) It was a mostly respectful conversation, but if you’re chasing a 3-year-old as part of a political protest, you’re a shit person.

Our country is aiding and abetting this slaughter because @JDVance had a temper tantrum. It’s so shameful.
Last night, the Russian army struck the center of Dobropillya in the Donetsk region with two ballistic missiles. After our emergency services arrived at the scene, they launched another strike, deliberately targeting the rescuers. This is a vile and inhumane intimidation tactic often used by the Russians. Tragically, at this moment, 11 people are confirmed dead. My condolences to their families and loved ones. More than 30 people were injured, including 5 children. Eight five-story apartment buildings, an administrative facility, and a fire truck were damaged. I thank all the emergency services, police, SES personnel, and medics who, despite the threat of repeated strikes, remain undaunted and are saving people from this terror. To everyone who defends lives while risking their own. Such strikes show that Russia's objectives have not changed. Therefore, it is crucial to continue to do our best to protect lives, strengthen our air defenses, and increase sanctions against Russia. Everything that helps Putin finance the war must collapse.

Yes. It's clearer every day that the only deal that matters is a secret one between Putin & Trump and that it was made long ago. Sell out Ukraine, embrace Russia, split from Europe & allies, find excuses and spread propaganda as you go along. Molotov & Ribbentrop would be proud.
Replying to @GLandsbergis
And the same logic plays out not just on the streets, but in geopolitics. –“Sign this deal on your minerals.” –“Ok.” –“Well… then we’ll punch you because you didn’t wear a suit.” It’s not about the minerals, or the elections, or any of it. It’s about submission. 🧵11/14

This guy is a leech on the public. No matter how many billions he gets in tax cuts and government contracts, it will never be enough for him. Now he’s going after the elderly, the disabled, and orphaned children so he can pocket it in tax cuts for himself. It’s disgusting.

Well, it looks like Putin immediately and harshly flipped the middle finger at Trump's attempt to quickly and easily achieve a ceasefire, bring the war to an end, and bask in self-admiration as a peacemaker and savior of nations. And so, our great dealmaker took the easiest route and is now looking for someone to blame. Twisting Ukraine’s arm and demanding Zelensky’s removal at Putin’s whim is far easier and safer than actually standing up to the Kremlin as the leader of the global superpower. Nothing will come of the absurd attempt to blame Ukraine for not voluntarily jumping into the execution pit in 2022 and for bravely fighting for its survival.

Oligarchs, monarchs, and dictators gathering to divide up a sovereign nation's territory, resources, and people. This has little to do with national interests of the US or Russia (or Saudi), and everything to do with enriching individuals. The Russian model has been exported.
Zelensky: it seems like Russia and the U.S. are preparing an ultimatum to Ukraine, talking about Ukraine without Ukraine. We didn’t accept ultimatums in 2022, when the situation was much more serious and nobody was helping us, and I have no intention of accepting any ultimatums now.

GOP Sen. Susan Collins reacts to Trump's firing of 17 inspectors general: "I don't understand why one would fire individuals whose mission it is to root out waste, fraud and abuse. This leaves a gap in what I know is a priority for President Trump. So I don't understand it."

Today a frail old man who's afraid of the cold will complete fascist Russia's elite capture of the United States. Democracy and the rule of law are lost in what once was an esteemed nation. Recovering them will be difficult. Few Americans realize the scale of their defeat.
