Hey Canada, US, and everywhere else, this is the antithesis of voting apathy. Step up!

“Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there-on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam.
The Earth is a very small stage in a vast cosmic arena. Think of the endless cruelties visited by the inhabitants of one corner of this pixel on the scarcely distinguishable inhabitants of some other corner, how frequent their misunderstandings, how eager they are to kill one another, how fervent their hatreds. Think of the rivers of blood spilled by all those generals and emperors so that, in glory and triumph, they could become the momentary masters of a fraction of a dot.
Our posturings, our imagined self-importance, the delusion that we have some privileged position in the Universe, are challenged by this point of pale light. Our planet is a lonely speck in the great enveloping cosmic dark. In our obscurity, in all this vastness, there is no hint that help will come from elsewhere to save us from ourselves.
The Earth is the only world known so far to harbor life. There is nowhere else, at least in the near future, to which our species could migrate. Visit, yes. Settle, not yet. Like it or not, for the moment the Earth is where we make our stand.
It has been said that astronomy is a humbling and character-building experience. There is perhaps no better demonstration of the folly of human conceits than this distant image of our tiny world. To me, it underscores our responsibility to deal more kindly with one another, and to preserve and cherish the pale blue dot, the only home we've ever known.”

Come on people, we gotta brace for impact on gas prices.
I hope smart leaders see this & get on things immediately to create more biking infrastructure, encourage people to bike with PSA's and incentives.
As a biker, I have never been so fit in my life since I stopped driving!

In my new essay, I write about the escalating, attacks on Canada’s sovereignty — tariffs, mockery of PM Carney, and a push for Alberta to secede. I also explain how Kremlin-backed separatism and MAGA opportunism have converged on the province, with the goal of weakening Canadian democracy.

I’ve been in or around politics for over a half-century now.
I’ve watched as corporations and the super-rich flooded D.C. with campaign cash and ransacked our system.
It won't be easy, but here’s how we break the corporate oligarchy and return power to the people.

Right now, every choice matters. 🇨🇦 Let’s keep building each other up by supporting local businesses and choosing to buy Canadian. Our most powerful vote now might be the product we put in our shopping cart.
Canada will forever be strong and free.

Health Canada says it did not consult the work of its own inspectors when writing a medical summary that said a young woman’s death in October last year had no connection with the plasma donation she was undergoing when her heart problems started.
The agency’s internal medical summary of the young plasma donor’s death in Winnipeg was based on information provided by Grifols, the private for profit plasma collection company, and an autopsy, but did not include information about problems Health Canada inspectors found with Grifols’ operations after the donor’s death, a spokesperson for the department said. #cdnpoli #mbpoli

Alberta should stop claiming this policy mirrors Germany, Switzerland, Japan, or South Korea. It does not. Alberta is not following an established international model. It is conducting a policy experiment with well-documented harms and unproven benefits. edmontonjournal.com/opinion/…

Actually, @NightShiftMD, under ALL conditions, dual practice is harmful. Summed up in one sentence, "...no country that allows dual practice has found a way to eliminate its harmful effects even with regulation." canlii.ca/t/j9kpw#par2439 (1/15)
