Abdul El-Sayed didn't just visit a mosque. On Friday, October 30, four days before Election Day, he took the minbar at the Islamic Institute of America in Dearborn Heights and turned Jumma into a campaign stop.
"He chose to insult… we chose to lift our voices, to uplift our country."
Then he told them to vote 🧵👇
Habibi PAC? More like Allah Hasibi PAC (الله حسيبي) 😂
The man who campaigned on "I've never taken a dime of corporate money, and never will" registered a PAC with the FEC two days after winning. His own site says he wants to ban Super PACs and get money out of politics. Habibi, the money IS the politics now 🙄
A few questions for the Senator-elect:
1. You promised to be a "lion for LGBTQ+ rights." Will Habibi PAC fund LGBTQ+ candidates? Will you say that from the minbar of the Islamic Institute of America, where you spoke on Oct 30, and where Imam Qazwini has preached against homosexuality?
2. Will Habibi PAC refuse PAC checks? A leadership PAC can legally take $5,000 a year from each PAC. Pledge it now.
3. Michigan's new senator lists his PAC at a Los Angeles address. Michigan money or Hollywood money?
4. In 2012 you signed a statement urging Morsi to "purge the media and the police." Will Habibi PAC fund press freedom or press purges?
"JD, habibi" was cute. Come the next election, Michigan will be the one saying Allah hasibak 👇

FROM “JD, HABIBI” TO “HABIBI PAC”!
Michigan Senator-elect Dr. Abdul El-Sayed is making headlines again, just days after his historic victory!
According to The Hill, El-Sayed has launched HABIBI PAC, a new political action committee designed to raise funds and support Democratic allies.
The name carries a fascinating political backstory.
During his victory speech, El-Sayed famously addressed Vice President JD Vance:
“JD, habibi!”
He then joked about the delicious irony of Vance being constitutionally obligated to swear him into the Senate.
Now, the same Arabic word, meaning “my dear” or “my beloved,” has become the name of his political action committee.
El-Sayed, who faced attacks over his Muslim identity throughout the campaign, is set to become America's first Muslim U.S. senator.
His victory was historic. His next chapter is already taking shape.
From breaking barriers to building political influence, Habibi PAC marks another milestone in El-Sayed's remarkable political journey.**
And perhaps the most memorable part?
They attacked his identity.
He embraced it. Now he's putting “HABIBI” on the political map!

Before the Habibi PAC money flows, watch where the campaign ended: at a mosque minbar during Jumma, "brother in faith," vote at Canfield, rally at 3. Church-and-state rules for thee 🙄👇

John Lewis marched for everyone's rights. On Oct 30 El-Sayed campaigned from the minbar of a mosque founded by an imam who called homosexuality "a form of disorder." Would Lewis's LGBTQ allies be welcome to celebrate there? Watch 👇

Asked why he devoted so much time to Michigan, Jim Clyburn compared the hostility Abdul El-Sayed faced to the struggles of civil rights icon John Lewis, citing Lewis’ beating on the Edmund Pettus Bridge and El-Sayed becoming the first Muslim elected to the Senate.
“They’re going after a brown Muslim today,” he recalled telling one group. “They’re gonna be coming after a Black Muslim tomorrow.”

"Hope beat hate." Four days before Election Day he campaigned from the minbar at a mosque whose founder, Imam Hassan Qazwini, called homosexuality "a form of disorder." If a Republican did GOTV from that pulpit, you'd write it up 🙄👇

Republicans’ key line of attack against Democrat Abdul El-Sayed was anti-Muslim rhetoric.
“You chose hate, and Michigan chose hope,” El-Sayed said to his opponent Mike Rogers after winning Michigan’s Senate seat, telling him to “enjoy your retirement.” wapo.st/3WU9liZ
That's the DC version. Four days before the vote, in Dearborn Heights, he took a mosque minbar during Friday prayers, called himself their "brother in faith" and told them where to vote. Watch 👇

This is the same imam who, in a July 2015 sermon, called homosexuality "a form of disorder" and said Americans would look back "with so much regret and sorrow" at legalizing same-sex marriage.
The NY Post also reported this mosque prayed for Allah to "show vengeance and wrath against the criminal Zionists."

He loves talking about a "bigger America" that's "big enough for all of us." So a couple of questions 😂
Would his LGBTQ supporters be welcome to celebrate there with him, after what his host preached about them?
And would his female staffers stand up there with him at that minbar, or get sent to a separate section?
Brother in humanity. Depends who you ask 🙄
Muhammad's massacre of Banu Qurayza: a whole Jewish tribe wiped out, its men beheaded and its boys inspected for pubic hair.
I made @grok walk through Islam's own sources, and it confirmed the key facts below. 🧵👇
