What a fool

Some dreams take longer to realise. Some come at a greater price. And some moments remind us why giving up was never an option. I have known Thulasizwe Simelane for more than 20 years. First as colleagues at SAfm Current Affairs, and later as his editor at eNCA. Through all those years, one dream remained constant: he wanted to become an attorney. It was a dream that came at a high price. Life threw storms his way, some harder than others, but Thulasizwe weathered them with the determination, resilience and grace of a true professional. He never lost sight of the destination. And so, watching him arrive at his celebration, now an admitted attorney, was a moment of immense pride and joy. I think I speak for many of our former colleagues when I say there is no one more deserving of this moment. We have watched your journey, witnessed your perseverance and celebrated your victories, both big and small. Thulasizwe, we are incredibly proud of you. I cannot wait to watch you stand in court and argue for a fairer, more just world. And, God willing, if we live long enough, perhaps one day we will even read a judgment penned by you. Now, wouldn't that be something! @andiswamakanda thank you for a beautiful day

I have always said that March, Loot and Kill is just a xenophobic hate group. They have no legitimate concerns. Hate is their only agenda. Their leader lies every single day and makes up statistics to fuel the xenophobic hate
A foreign national was beaten to death by a crowd of about 50 people in Durban, South Africa, police say. The unidentified man is said to have been approached by the roadside before being assaulted by a group. He was pronounced dead at the scene. bbc.in/3TQx82n

"The same firm rated Zimbabwe’s GDP data “E”, meaning unusable for serious decision-making. That part got less airtime."
So, just how big is Zimbabwe’s economy? For Government, GDP seems to come in various sizes. From US$44.4 billion months ago to US$66 billion this past weekend, here is how the official GDP number has moved around over the past year newzwire.live/so-just-how-bi…

We have to have a serious conversation about Geo Pomona being imposed on Bulawayo citizens. This is serious state capture, And if we don't resist it while we can, Looters will keep winning. I urge Bulawayo people to take it upon yourselves to compel your councilors to firmly reject/resist this. It's not a secret that the owner of this company is politically connected. It's also not a secret that Bulawayo city council through its own processes, Had already initiated an expression of interest (EOI) framework, And engaged regulatory bodies to invite prospective international and local firms to submit competitive waste-to-energy and landfill management proposals. So why must Bulawayo be forced to bypass proper competitive bidding? Why is BCC being forced to violate procurement laws? #ZanupfMustGo

Zimbabweans have a pre-occupation with political theatrics & drama. The ZanuPF congress went exactly as I expected it. In fact it went exactly as all prior Congresses before it.During Mugabe's time every Congress unanimously endorsed his "unending" rule until the sudden 180° turn.

Where are those people who were trying to shove Starlink down our throats by telling us about internet for poor rural children?? 👀 We really need to keep an eye on policy making coming out of @CommsZA because kucishe konakala. The regulations in ICT sector are there for a reason
Zelensky literally begs Elon Musk to switch on STARLINK or thousands of Ukrainians will die! He accuses Trump and Musk of betraying Ukraine, claiming Starlink's overnight disruption crippled interceptor drones that rely on the satellite network, putting Ukrainian lives at risk. The same Starlink they wanted in India and Rahul & opposition were all out supporting!

Kuda Tagwireyi has become the most dangerous man in Zimbabwe. Having brazenly acquired billions of dollars though crass and gross pillaging of public assets and resources he has set his eyes on the highest political office in the land . His hubris arrogance and ego thinks that he can commodify political power in Zimbabwe on the same matrix he has sat in his soiled boardroom plotting tenders ,schemes or scams. He will learn soon learn that buying off ZANU PF is not the same as getting into bed with Trafigura and acquiring rights over the Beira pipe line . That dealing with war vets is not the same as scamming off the National Social Security Authority ( NASSA) to acquire its shares in First Mutual Life. He will learn soon that the occupancy of 1 Chancelleor Lane Borrowdale can not be done with the ease he acquired USD 1.9 billion Treasury Bill for his 35 % equity in Kuvimba Mining . This criminal element can not get away with paying millions to divert public sentiment against CAB 3 . He can not be allowed to continue doling out millions of dollars to buy his way into public spaces . GD sixes can never be the bridge to State House . Those backing him , those who have fast trekked his elevation into the ZANU Central Committee, the Senate , Cabinet and the ZANU politburo must know that Zimbabwe is a not a private limited company . Neither them , their ancestors or mistresses have title deeds to Zimbabwe. They have no right to play poker with Zimbabwe institutions and public offices . They have no right to push Zimbabwe to the brink . Our advise to Mr Tagwireyi is simple : Go back home and play with your children . This path you have chosen only has one guaranteed unhappy ending .

I must admit, I have a soft spot for this brother. Perhaps it is because he represents a new generation of leadership, those of us who never went to war and cannot claim liberation war credentials as a qualification for leadership. I hope he is guided by a sober mind, sound judgment, integrity and a genuine desire to serve the people. Zimbabwe needs a generation that can move beyond the politics of liberation history and focus on building a nation where leadership is earned through ideas, accountability and results rather than the credentials of the past.
