If AI can modify its own weights at runtime, wouldn’t that allow it to tweak itself constantly based on tasks?

I think the "You don't know who to trust" permeating feeling of poorer countries, will arrive in spades to richer countries now because of generated content, scalable misinformation campaigns, granular per-person persuasive propaganda etc...

Build trust now, to leverage it much much more later. Ideally with people around you.

I think all this anti-AI drama ends once AI directly bribes the pitchfork hordes with cheaper groceries, a cure for many horrible diseases, a robot that cleans up their room (one of the biggest challenges in their lives) Simple exchange. You bribe them & they'll revolt less

Right now I think AI is more directly & obviously beneficial for those who leverage it more. Tech proximal folks, those with businesses and those who need to get things done effectively. It will eventually come for the rest

Would be nice if someone at @OpenAI actually used their product in browsers to see basic UX catastrophes. Like text getting erased when you stop typing first second or two

Chatgpt Astra literally made retopology as a profession, obsolete. Look at my photogrammetry scan on the left, and Astra take on the right

Bottlenecked information, the right moment, DDOS false news spreading into an uncontrollable (this time good) frenzy I wonder if, using AI surveillance of global sentiment, you could calculate the right nudge at the right time...

when the tipping point is optimal, to intensely spread certain information that would high confidence result in the expected outcome. I bet this will be used often by both opposing sides, whichever they may be

If you’re not armed, own property, are fairly competent at all of those, you’re voting, thinking, talking under durress.

If you’ve spent most of your life in this defenseless state, your ideology, morality, preferences, creativity, argumentation and reasoning, they all revolve around “how to minimize threat”. Consciously or subconsciously. You’re exceedingly useful to totalitarians and dictators.

I think modern technology insulates us from reality more and more. It allows for humongous productivity by a handful of people, and the rest can be insanely misguided, separated from the real world, living in their own bubbles, riding the surplus these few create.

It used to be that if you don’t have some semblance of contact with reality & provide something productive to the people around you, you perished. Your opinions became irrelevant and you were “censored” because you just died. So the main proponent for your ideas was gone.

Today that’s not the case. People can remain proponents of their ideas after failing miserably, over and over, in the exact same way.

Californian Americans hate it when I joke about us being 600 years under Ottoman slavery. They want me to shut up about it.

The iPhone disrupted social harmony The invention of fire ransacked communal peace Penicillin changed things up and made things awkward Every single radically beneficial change uprooted something Prioritizing harmony over everything is a stagnant world
