I stumbled upon these while making another post and I'm shocked by their existence and there's no info online about them that I can find. Does anyone know how this card was distributed and or if they know a current owner of one? I'm very confident the dotcode data is unpreserved!
Gloom will hit the ground in 2043
I really love storytelling in card art. I came across this fun detail, and it totally caught my attention.
Check out Gloom from Aquapolis (2003) sleeping peacefully on a branch, illustrated by Kyoko Umemoto.
Twenty years later, Umemoto returned for Crown Zenith (2023) to show the exact moment it finally fell!
As a joke, imagine taking a 20-year nap, only to finally wake up by crashing straight to the ground! LOL
Did you know about this?
Yeah I play with my Pokemon cards
I put them in toploaders and then store them in a box where I never look at them again 🥰😍🤩
Funniest thing about this card is that not only did we not get it, Japan reprinted it three years later with updated rules text and the new card back in Pokemon Web and we STILL didn't get it
If you haven't eaten a Pokemon card I'm sorry to be the one that has to tell you that you aren't a real fan
People always scoff at "high" commission prices for online art without thinking about why it's priced that way. If you buy a complicated piece that takes a specialist 5 hours to make do you really think it's worth $30.
Fun Fact!
Did you know it can take anywhere up to 2 weeks for a TCGPlayer shipment to arrive after purchase due to shipping delays and processing time?
Another Fun Fact!
This Pikachu settled from the set release high a little over 3 weeks ago before exploding in price yesterday
Errmmmmm have you considered that I just like the card... being $25 dollars so I can dump it on other people...
This is really stupid and shows how a lot of people just follow like sheep being led to the slaughter because they are new here.
We have two years where this set will be massively printed and ripped and we have one of the Pikachus being bought out a month after release.
500-1000 listings for every other Pika and most have multiple copies. These cards are "bulk" in the sense that there are so many out there. So unless there is a continuous buyout/manipulation effort, this card will crash back down to bulk pricing.
So many people lose money following the herd and never learn the lesson. Many were led to buy $1200 Treekachus, $50 Bulbasaur promos, and so much more only for modern cards to crash from their manipulated, artificial prices.
"Sounds like you're poor and mad"
"Sounds like you're poor and mad... NANI?!??"
"Next you'll say "I just like the card""
"I just like the card... IMPOSSIBLE, HOW!?!?"
OOYAMA's Pikachu in 30th is an insane call back to the Tropical Mega Battle event, Ooyama's Pikachu, and Tropical Beach
1/6
When the World Championships returned to Hawaii in 2011, it came with a new Promo card Tropical Beach, which has a shockingly similar effect to Ooyama's 30th anniversary Pikachu!
