All these game launchers are bloatware. Proper launchers are updated through a full client update, not updated through remote server or CDN code execution.

‼️ BREAKING: The PC launcher of hit anime shooter Nikke was hijacked to drop a remote-control agent built to steal passwords, SSH keys and crypto wallets, a researcher says.
Attackers planted code on 27 September in official files on the servers of Level Infinite, Tencent's games label. The launcher loads them at every start.
Several players have found the agent running. Proton is no shield, so Steam Deck players are exposed too.
Players can check the launcher's debug.log for k2f_chan.
Level Infinite swapped three of the four files today, the researcher says, without a word to players.

I've recently read about orchestras that don't play video game music not being able to make a profit anymore, and this annoys them a lot because they are forced to play game OSTs now.
Nintendo has everything to win in the current console marketplace by lowering the entry price but I don't think their mentality about selling hardware over software studently shifted. So that rumored $299 is very unlikely.

Walmart is giving Zelda Switch 2 customers 48 hours to reclaim their canceled pre-orders.
After mistakenly canceling orders just one day before delivery, the retailer is now sending affected customers emails with an “Exclusive Reservation” option
They must complete checkout within 48 hours or risk losing their console again.

This is such a failed design for FPS games. Most gaming monitors come with a built-in crosshair already. Wasting resources on extra crosshair checks instead of having it permanently visible is just raw stupidity.
I am officially banned from all of Battlefield 4 because I had a crosshair overlay that was active 5 YEARS ago that was on for FIVE SECONDS because I forgot to turn it off when I swapped games.
