Working with an owner doing 700+ cleans a month is forcing me to become a better recruiter. I’ve had to change how I source and interview. He’s not asking who can fill a seat at $6 an hour. He’s asking whether this person will cost him $2000 or $3000 a month. If gross revenue drops, he needs somebody to figure out why and how to fix it. If complaints are 3x in one location compared to the others, he needs somebody who can do the same. Somebody who can manage each of his departments. Understanding how companies at this level function and what they require in terms of talent is giving me the confidence to start trying to work with other home service businesses outside of the cleaning industry. I want to help business owners build global teams of killers.

Another one! Yesterday I made my first big placement. On that very day, another cleaning company reaches out to hire an ops manager with a budget of $2400 - $2700/month. Let’s go, man! This is making my job way more fun, and it’s cool to see cleaning companies trusting me to fill these seats for them. Stoked.

People will call anybody they hire offshore or nearshore a VA. Just placed a guy from El Salvador at 3k/month + growth incentives. - MBA, Finance & Economics - BBA, Business Administration I’d call him a General Manager, but to each their own. Titles are free.

GM gents. I have been released from LinkedIn prison. And to celebrate my return, I have sent out my first message in attempt to pouch a senior recruiter from another company. Feels good to be back. I’ll keep you posted.

Had an employee apply to one of our jobs who’s currently employed with a big company on X in the global hiring space. As I was writing an email to them, I paused, held down the delete key and decided it just wasn’t worth it. Don’t need the smoke.

What’s cool about China is that they’re so superstitious, that even with a declining birth rate they’ll have baby’s bumps during Dragon years (zodiac symbol) because they think their kids will be luckier, better at business, etc They love the dragon and use it as decoration for all sorts of things.

My X feed is mostly indie makers and creators nearby, and SMB guys in the US. The SMB guys could be doing 10M a year in sales and still tell you they’re still just figuring things out. Meanwhile a guy in Thailand selling X growth hacks will tell you what the future of business looks like with certainty. Funny how that works.

My vibe coded website has zero SEO dollars behind it. Just setup analytics and to my surprise, it’s getting traffic from Google, ChatGPT and Bing. I have no idea what I’m doing and I’m going to double down on that.

Last weekend a cleaning company doing 100+ cleans/month was interviewing a candidate from LATAM for $1000/month. He was ready to hire her. Then I asked if he wanted to jump on a quick call with somebody from Jamaica for $1600/month to see the difference that $600 buys you. Turns out it’s a pretty big difference. The lady from Jamaica starts with him next Monday.

Just received a JD from a home cleaning company doing 270k/month yesterday. Might already have a potential match for him. Some of you guys in the residential cleaning industry are doing insane numbers.

Guys. I’m agentless… I have a few repetitive tasks that are a pain in the ass and could easily be done by an agent. Where do I start? Viktor? Grok bot?

Every cleaning company needs a killer sales rep. (Business idea) Source, train and manage a team of freaks. - Answer phones & SMS - Book cleans - Update CRM Recurring revenue. Probably pretty sticky if your team can crush. Would you use a service like this or would you prefer to own your talent?

Our brains are wired to survive not to be happy. You can do a couple thousand in sales in a day and think almost nothing of it. Make one mistake and it keeps you awake at night. I had a candidate who did really well throughout our interview process. Fast and reliable response times. She no showed the interview with the employer. This was 2 weeks ago and there isn’t a day since I haven’t thought about it. We treat wins like they’re nothing and mistakes like they’re everything. It’s kind of gross.

Vietnam will humble you quick. I’m sitting at a cafe. There’s a Viet guy without headphones, audio blasting from his phone. An older American guy walks up, stands over him and starts telling him to turn it up louder. Again, and again. 5 or 6 times he says this. A crash out. He’s saying this to a guy who doesn’t understand a word he’s saying. I finally say, hey, dummy up! The older American guy looks around and sees everybody looking at him and leaves. This is the thing people don’t get when they move abroad. You think your new country will bend to how you live. It’s the opposite. Vietnam doesn’t care how things are back home. It doesn’t care about your patience, your bad day, none of it. You either learn to embrace chaos or you become miserable.

The X/twitter consensus seems to be that the iPhone Duo is a bust. I disagree. It’s nice to see that Apple isn’t spamming us with the same phone. If you’ve been an iPhone user, you know what I know, nothing has changed in terms of design or function for so long that the purchase isn’t exciting anymore. It’s boring. I like to see them trying new things and I’m excited to see it out in the wild. Apple needs to keep throwing more darts. If this one doesn’t stick, maybe the next one will as long as they continue to take chances.

The employer coming back for another hire, and the VA referring her friends to apply with Hirevado is the best turn of events I could ever ask for. Best case scenario
Last week Hirevado helped a home service business hire a lady with an international business degree for $8/hour. She’s closing bookings midway through her first shift. Big W for everybody.

Music to my ears.
Guy in our pipeline grew up in the UK and moved to the Philippines as 17. Manchester sound at Manila rates. A moving company hired him to sort leads and do outbound. They wanted to see how the UK accent plays in the US. I’m just as curious as they are.

Holy hell. Somehow ended up getting mentioned on TikTok and a WhatsApp group for online jobs for Jamaicans. The applicants were pouring in for a few weeks straight. Somebody do that to me for LaTam please and thank you.
