THE NEW AVENGERS
Series 1
13 x 52min
Shooting from Mon 29 Mar 1976 for 32 weeks (finishing early Nov).
Each show took approx. 3 weeks to film, and they usually overlapped i.e., wk 3 of one ep was also wk 1 of the next.
Without paperwork, schedule cannot be pinned down exactly. 😞

THE NEW AVENGERS 'K is for Kill'
Mon 1 Aug 1977:
Patrick Macnee makes one last visit to the traditional Avengers setting of an English village*, to film a scene set in 1965-alongside Steed's Bentley.
Love these pics.

Filmed in front of a studio audience Fri 8 Apr 1988
NBC Thu 6 Oct '88 @ 9pm.
Series ran 4 years, 88 eps.
Penultimate episode of DEMPSEY AND MAKEPEACE, which was only actually on air for 22 months.
I suspect it proved too expensive for LWT, because it certainly wasn't the ratings.
THE GLASS HOUSE, prison drama with Alan Alda.
TV movie, released in cinemas overseas. Filmed Nov '71 on location at Utah State Prison.
Alda flew back to Los Angeles and began rehearsals for the M*A*S*H pilot the next day.
About a month into my time at Stirling Uni, and DOCTOR WHO began one of its best stories in a long time: 'The Curse of Fenric'. 😊
But let me tell you--there weren't many DW fans on campus! The TV rooms were all watching Corrie.
UP THE ELEPHANT AND ROUND THE CASTLE was on 14mill viewers straight off.
Meanwhile ONLY FOOLS AND HORSES, on Series 3, had worked its way up to about 11m.
I present this as factual, nothing else. 🤷♂️
THERE'S A LOT OF IT ABOUT--Spike Milligan's final series for the Beeb (I think).
Remember two things about it: the theme tune, and that transmission broke down during an ep. Didn't resume for at least 10 minutes.
If Network had released FOXY LADY on DVD, I would've bought.
There's a DOCTOR WHO connection. 'The Five Doctors' was made in March 1983 because Patrick Troughton was booked for F.L. Series 2 from April!
In 1974 ITV reputedly paid £850,000 for rights to the first 6 JAMES BOND films, two showings each.
Money well spent. They brought gigantic audiences to the channel for decades.
Dec 2019, Jan '20 were worst months of my entire life. Recall I considered going to an overnight preview of THE RISE OF SKYWALKER.
Thank the stars I thought better of it. My mood coming out would have been lower than whale shit.
Lando Calrissian in RISE OF SKYWALKER was a monumental disappointment.
I was expecting him to be as central as Han in FORCE AWAKENS or Luke in LAST JEDI.
Instead he was onscreen for six minutes.
Took a look at THAT '90s SHOW.
Mila K was on screen for 45 seconds, in the pilot.
If I was a fan this would annoy me. 😂
If somebody reprises a role, it has to be something special IMHO, otherwise what's the point.
Only thing I remember about COLD WARRIOR (English spy stuff starring Michael Denison) was a letter to Radio Times which said "May it run as long as DOCTOR WHO".
It ran to 8 eps, and was never repeated. 😄
THE NEW AVENGERS on its mid-80s trip round the ITV regions. 😊
UTV (N Ireland) got it primarily on a Monday night post NEWS AT TEN. Bit late for me so I recorded and watched the following evening. 📼📺
WYATT'S WATCHDOGS: a reteaming of Brian Wilde and director Alan JW Bell, after the former departed LAST OF THE SUMMER WINE (temporarily).
Weak sauce.
