I feel like I say this every year but if a QB wants to slide, they need to do so early enough for a defender to respond.
That means you may not get the first down. You may not get the extra two yards. You may not get in field goal range. That’s the exchange. Some of these defenders being penalized or ejected are just doing their job.

I know there is a lot of talk about QBs sliding… I slid my whole career & never took a hit like you see now & that’s when hitting was allowed!
I don’t believe it’s the sliding that’s the problem, it’s the TIMING of the slide! QBs are pushing envelope bc they are more protected & they expect defenders to just assume they aren’t going to keep running… bad assumption!
Go down early or just be a running back - the in-between is the problem IMO!
Unbelievable … I have stories to tell about how stars and rankings get doled out and adjusted by these “Scouts” … however I’m laughing bc this is just another glaring example of everybody can make as much money as they want off of athletes but let’s cap the athletes 🤷🏾♂️
The evaluation is an incredibly thorough process that includes interviews with their coaches. A major gap has long existed for most athletes, and this helps address it. A number of athletes have already seen their interests pick up after their eval went public. My only regret is not doing this years ago.
