The International Criminal Court (ICC) has insulated itself against potential U.S. sanctions, Deputy Prosecutor Nazhat Shameem Khan told the Financial Times.
The measures follow reports that President Donald Trump’s administration has prepared sanctions targeting the entire court.
Over the past year, the tribunal overhauled its operations to buffer against potential impacts: it switched from Microsoft to German open-source openDesk, established workarounds for banking and health insurance, and paid employees months in advance to mitigate payroll disruption.
Khan noted the court has done substantial work to remain protected from future sanction threats.

In Australia @MichaelWestBiz has published numerous reports on Australian charities funding illegal settlements and IDF related projects. Apparently this is cool and normal according to the regulator because domestic law does not reflect international law.

Altogether, they appear to have sent more than £1.7 million to recipients in settlements over the past three years, although the figure could be much higher.
There may be more organisations doing the same. In June, Labour MP Melanie Ward accused 32 British charities of funnelling £28m to illegal Israeli settlements. The Charity Commission then announced last month that it had launched a statutory inquiry into eight charities working in illegal Israeli settlements. It is unclear whether the charities Declassified has identified are also on Ward’s list or among those that the Commission is probing.
‘The UK cannot simply acknowledge that settlements are illegal while turning a blind eye to financial flows originating within its own jurisdiction that may contribute to sustaining them,’ Shaima Dallali, legal researcher from the International Centre of Justice for Palestinians (ICJP).
