I’m a 51 years old dad with a 9 to 5 working in IT. On the side, I make app and digital assets so I could retire early and build a passive income for retirement. I also do this to keep my brain active, creative and healthy. AI allows me to accelerate this. Feels like a second chance. I’m not not going to miss this opportunity. If we’re not connected already … leave a comment and let me know why should I follow you back

How to build a side hustle without making the rest of your life miserable. (over 40 edition) - Keep your 9–5. It's much easier to build something when you're not worried about paying next month's bills. - Stop looking for million-dollar ideas. A small product making $500/month is already more than most people have built. - Build things you actually understand. You don't need to invent a new industry. - Don't start a business that requires you to be available 24/7. You already have a job. - Learn to code with AI. You don't get extra points for doing everything yourself. - Don't spend three months choosing your tech stack. Nobody cares. - Launch before you're comfortable. Your first version probably won't get enough attention for anyone to notice the imperfections. - Stop comparing yourself to 22-year-olds building startups in their bedrooms. Different life, different responsibilities. - Don't turn every hobby into a business. You're allowed to enjoy things without monetizing them. - Build assets, not another job. The goal is to eventually own something that works when you're not working. - Don't quit because your first product failed. You've probably spent more money on things that taught you less.

A feature nobody asked for is not a feature. It's maintenance you scheduled for yourself.

if steve jobs saw you reserving 15% screen width for a single icon and then putting a left side arrow back button on the unreachable right side of the screen he would've personally taken you behind a dumpster and beat you with a metal pipe

An important reminder from Atomic Habits by James Clear: “It doesn't make sense to continue wanting something if you're not willing to do what it takes to get it. If you don't want to live the lifestyle, then release yourself from the desire. To crave the result but not the process is to guarantee disappointment.”
