The 2026 Governor’s Summit has officially wrapped up! It was a successful two days in Kearney as Nebraskans of all ages came together to share ideas and find new ways to grow our great state. We heard from Husker Athletic Director Troy Dannen and Nebraska Men’s Basketball Coach Fred Hoiberg about what it means to lead and how we can best set ourselves up for success in business, education, and beyond. Thank you to everyone who made the trip to Kearney to be part of this year’s Summit! I know many are leaving having learned something new, made valuable connections, and some even found a new career opportunity. Thank you for helping make the 2026 Governor’s Summit a success!

Nebraska is one of just 17 states to hold a DUAL AAA credit rating! This is huge news for our great state! Both Moody’s and S&P Global have awarded Nebraska their highest possible credit rating, reflecting the strength and stability of our state’s economy. Nebraska is a great place to live, work, and invest—these ratings prove it! #GoodLifeGreatBusiness
Nebraskans can be proud that the Cornhusker State has the highest possible credit rating from major rating agencies. It's a direct reflection of state government's sound fiscal management and it strengthens our reputation as a predictable place to invest and do business.

Nebraska is helping fuel the world. During our trade mission to Japan, we had productive conversations at an Ethanol Roundtable about strengthening our partnership and expanding opportunities for Nebraska ethanol in the Japanese market. By working together, we can support innovation, enhance energy security, and create new opportunities for Nebraska agriculture.

ICYMI: Nebraska is open for business! Opportunity Zones 2.0 will drive new investment and economic development in economically distressed and low-income communities. By cutting government red tape, we’re creating an environment where growth can thrive. Last week, I announced the census tracts I submitted to become Opportunity Zones beginning in 2027. #GoodLifeGreatBusiness View the full map: gis.ne.gov/portal/apps/insta…

Alongside @USAmbPH, I had the privilege to celebrate the opening of the U.S. Pavilion at World Food Expo Manila 2026. This pavilion provides the United States—and Nebraska—with the opportunity to showcase American products directly to the Filipino people while strengthening the trade partnership between our two nations.

Thank you to @USAmbPH for the warm welcome to the Philippines. I am grateful for your hospitality and look forward to strengthening our partnership and opening the door to even more investment between the Philippines and Nebraska. Nebraska’s prosperity depends on exporting our agricultural products globally. We literally feed the world. That global market is competitive, and those who show up and build business relationships win. That’s why I’m proud to be joined by Senator Sanders, @NEFarmBureau, @NECornBoard, @NebraskaWheat, @NEporkproducers, Nebraska Beef Council, and Chief Industries, to meet the challenges of opening and expanding markets for our producers. 🌽 🌱 🥩 🐖 🌏

Economic development is a top priority for my administration. Today, alongside Mayor Ewing (Omaha), Mayor Clausen (Norfolk), Mayor Fagot (Lexington), and Mayor Taylor (McCook), I announced Nebraska’s updated census tracts for Opportunity Zones 2.0. Thank you, @POTUS and @SecretaryTurner, for making this a priority and helping create new opportunities for investment, job creation, and growth across Nebraska. #GoodLifeGreatBusiness Full Map: gis.ne.gov/portal/apps/insta…

It was very encouraging to see Gov. @TeamPillen and so many committed local leaders in Nebraska last week. Good local governance is key to increasing opportunity in the Cornhusker State.

Great collaboration — local, state, federal — on display in Nebraska. Today’s visit with @SecretaryTurner was an opportunity to brag about Nebraska. Our country is well served by his leadership in the @POTUS Administration. 🇺🇸

Nebraska is at the heart of innovation and U.S. competitiveness. We are big enough to have scale, but small enough to know each other well. Great to bring together leaders from @Gallup, @DevelopNebraska, @AksarbenFdn & @NebraskaChamber to discuss how we can continue to leverage our state's strengths to build a strong economic future.

Clearwater, NE📍The Good Life It was an honor to spend the morning in Clearwater to present the area with the Governor’s 2026 Showcase Community Award. It’s much deserved — having distinguished itself through projects to enhance quality of life and encourage economic growth for its people.  Nebraska is blessed with extraordinary citizens who step up to improve their communities. It’s amazing to see what the people of Clearwater have accomplished together. They have developed new housing, renovated community gathering places, and created a memorial for military veterans.

They’ve also grown their annual rodeo into one of the best in America! 🤠

Congratulations to Clearwater on being named Nebraska’s Showcase Community! 🇺🇸 #GoodLifeGreatBusiness

There is no place like Nebraska. 🇺🇸 This is the best place in the world to raise a family and build a career. We’re making significant progress and will keep working to create opportunity, invest in our kids, and lower taxes — especially property taxes — to help convince more folks to keep living the Good Life.  #GoodLifeGreatBusiness

Nebraska’s going to compete. Yesterday — joined by community and business leaders — we announced our Grow the Good Life Incentive, an initiative we developed in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce and economic development experts. It will provide significant tax credits to businesses — of all sizes — that grow their business and bring new, high paying careers here to Nebraska. I’m grateful to Senator von Gillern for introducing this key economic development bill that will allow Nebraska to invest in the future of our state. 🇺🇸 The Good Life is Open for Business. #GoodLifeGreatBusiness

The data is in — and Nebraska’s economy is knocking it out of the park. 📈💪✅

We beat the national average and earned a spot in the top quarter of states for GDP increases. Additionally, our great state came in at #2 overall for personal income growth. As Governor, I’m committed to investing in our people, growing opportunity, and creating a business culture that builds long-term success. 🇺🇸 #GoodLifeGreatBusiness

Buying local supports Nebraska families and small businesses — and lessens our reliance on foreign adversaries, including the Chinese Communist Party. Do business with your neighbors. Do business with Main Street, Nebraska. That is the greatest form of security that we can create. 🇺🇸 #GoodLifeGreatBusiness ktiv.com/video/2026/01/05/pi…

Union Pacific said in its filing that it expects to add more than 500 managerial employees at its Omaha headquarters. “With continued investment in its Omaha-based headquarters and the people of this great state, we are proud to support Union Pacific’s efforts to create the nation’s first transcontinental railroad,” Pillen said. “A Nebraska-born and grown business, UP helps our farming and ranching families feed the world and transports the materials that are building the future of our country. Nebraska — a friend to business and perfectly located to serve as a nationwide transportation hub — is proud to be home of UP’s past and future successes.” #GoodLifeGreatBusiness knopnews2.com/2025/12/19/pil…
