My colleagues can no longer deny that this is genocide. We must follow our own U.S. laws. We need an Arms Embargo now.

#LSU removed its diversity statement from its website because it was from a previous administration and had not been updated in many years, a spokesperson said. The new statement makes no reference to diversity or eliminating bias #lalege #lagov #lawd lailluminator.com/2024/01/11….

Glad to be able to represent Louisiana today @WhiteHouse meeting of state legislators on gun violence prevention. The strategy brought up most was coalition building, which is what we did on the gun storage bill HB247: we found a point of agreement, safe storage. #lalege

I really can’t rationalize how so many of us skip over something so easy, that impacts so much of your life. Between Baton Rouge and New Orleans the 2 biggest cities in Louisiana we have 270,156 REGISTERED Black voters. Only 15,038 Black people early voted when you add up the turnout totals for both. With low numbers like that turnout is expected to be extremely low for Black voters. Voting doesn’t solve everything by far, but not voting has impacts on your kids education, the investment in your roads and businesses. Even if you don’t care about the social issues, not voting impacts who gets the money. We have good people on the ballot Saturday. In statewide races, as well as senate and house races. I’m doing my part, will you Do YOUR part? @rolandsmartin always highlights the Deep South. #AlwaysRising #KeepPushing

Four hours of live TV tonight, and my closing remarks were: Louisiana Democratic Party, in failing to even put a Democrat in the runoff, is no longer a legitimate opposition party. To regain a two party system, it will need to be burned to the ground, and rebuilt from scratch.

GREAT news for Louisiana! This decision shows that in a healthy democracy fair and equitable representation matters, whether to the people of Louisiana or anywhere else in the world. cnn.com/2023/06/26/politics/…

Tuckems, of 226 federal judges appointed by Trump the total number of Black people? 9!! (he says in that high pitched voice of someone awaiting puberty). I guess those white judges were raced-based, illegal hiring that was not about looking like America but punishing people. Putz – at Manhattan, NY
Tucker: Out of 97 federal judges confirmed under Joe Biden, total number of white men.. five. Twenty two are Black women.
