“Indie Animation creators when people don’t laugh at their realistic panic attack therapy slop scenes or putting their guy characters in maid dresses” and they’re only talking about the amazing digital circus

Here's my take. I think what I'm about to say applies to any kind of content creator online. Sorry for the long post.
I like Glitch's stuff. I was a little "ehh" on how Digital Circus ended but overall it was good imo. I've been a content creator for a long time, I've seen how nice fans can be and how horrifically mean they can be as well.
First—creators of all kind. Me, you, Glitch, game devs, movie studios, etc. ALL of us live and die by our fans. We literally cannot exist without them. You can always just draw for yourself but if you're trying to make a living, you need people to watch, read, think, appreciate and even hate your work.
If my time online has taught me anything it's that the internet at large does not care about your feelings—and shouldn't, imo. Fans are going to do whatever they want, regardless of what you the creator may say.
Your intentions may be good. You don't want to see people who enjoy your content harass others or be harassed because they have some criticism about your work. You want everyone to be kind and civil because at the end of the day, this is all for entertainment. For fun. It's fiction and it's not real, no need to take it so seriously.
But unless you're freakin' Mister Rogers, your words have little to no sway. They may do something purely to spite you and piss you off, because seeing people get mad about something you don't care about is funny sometimes.
We cannot control the actions of people who watch our stuff and it's unwise to think we can. At most we can put out a polite general statement, "Please do not harass people in response to our work, whether they praise or criticize it.", but that's about as far as I'd go.
We also cannot control our people interpret our work, death of the author and all that jazz. Someone seeing an animation of a guy walking into a tree may see a silly video and laugh while another guy sees it as a criticism of male intelligence or something.
If you want to deal with fans who harass you online here are your options:
- Ignore them
- Mute them
- Block them
- Report them
That's it.
Glitch is an animation studio. They cannot police or dictate the actions of their fans. They have little power outside of reporting them themselves or a general statement. Unless Glitch themselves were actively asking fans to harass people (they obviously don't), I really don't see what else they could possibly do. I myself wouldn't expect them to do anything more than that.
It's not fair for anyone to get harassed because they like or criticize a piece of media. At the same time it's inevitably going to happen some where.
That's about all I got. Nothin' against you, just wanted to put my thoughts out there.
I don't dislike Glitch.
I love their work.
This is sad for me to make.
I believe they lay at a cross roads.
One many media companies will see in their lives.
Taking the right action now could make all the difference.
Please make a good choice, Glitch.

not to discourse and stuff i wont attack op but i wonder what the deal is ive noticed my whole life that people have a really staunch view that "quality and masterpiece" is some kind of immutable objective thing and not something that comes down to personal resonance ultimately

For people opening links on browser, just right click on the link and click on the "Copy clean link" option.
It will by default remove all the trackers from the link.
Note: This option is available in Brave not in chrome.

"Trackeo"
Porque X ahora incrusta un código de seguimiento en los enlaces copiados que identifica quién, cuándo y dónde se copió el link.
La solución es sencilla: solo hay que borrar todo lo que aparece en el enlace después del "?".

Imagine trying to cancel a 42 year old franchise slasher villain because you're so bored with life and need to start drama for validation! It's all performative bullshit to feel morally superior because there is nothing better going on in these people's own miserable lives!

This guy found the NSA spyware. No wonder Edward Snowden has a disassembled phone where he custom soldered the connections when he wants to make a call. Everything you delete is still stored in the cache. Holy shit.
BREAKING: Claude Code found 14,219 photos of my face on my Android that I never took. Phone was secretly taking them almost every time I picked it up. Even when I was just lying in bed. Even at home.
Not screenshots. Real frames from the front camera. On the train. In the car. At home. When I just grabbed it to check the time.
They were just sitting in a system cache. Timestamps and GPS on them. Nothing in Gallery. Nothing in Recently Deleted.
Plugged the phone into my laptop, made a full backup, told Claude Code to look for any front-camera files that weren’t in my photos. It pulled /data/system/users/0/faceunlock/cache and another folder inside Google Play Services. Over 14 thousand files. Normal ones and infrared from Face Unlock. Every single one had time and location.
Started scrolling. Almost everything from the last 15 months. Then I saw a file created 2 seconds ago. I was still looking at the folder. Phone kept taking photos while I was reading this.
Google and the phone makers say Face Unlock turns everything into a mathematical model and deletes the image right away. On this phone the raw frames were just sitting there. Some of the processes writing to that folder were from system diagnostics. Couple of old apps that still had camera permission could also get in.
Turned off diagnostics, revoked camera access from everything that doesn’t need it, cleared the cache. But how many of these frames already went somewhere else, I don’t know.
If you want to check yours, plug it in, make a full backup or use ADB, and ask Claude to look for front-camera files outside your Gallery. Path above is where mine were.

We've sadly hit another puritanical stage of media consumption. Nothing can be sexual, nothing can be overtly violent, nothing can touch heavy topics, nothing can be problematic. If they do we get 400 word essays on why you need to be put on a list for engaging with it.
Me duele mucho el como termino todo, porque este fangame fue mi introducción al género de los RPG de terror.
La estética, música y todos sus apartados me cautivaron al punto de querer conocer otros juegos similares como Mad Father o The Witch House
Neta que putada :(

No seriously what exactly do people WANT from gameoverse? Even a gif of just Kit resting with another girl has people in a frenzy talking about "therapy slop" as if taking isn't just a normal fucking thing???
What exactly do y'all want them to do 😭
