Long before people enjoyed Halloween as a night of costumes and candy…   Its roots reached far deeper.   Known as the precursor to modern Halloween, the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain marked the turning of the season; the end of harvest, the beginning of the darker months…
  And a time when the boundary between the seen and unseen was believed to grow thin. 
It was a moment to reflect on the past and future, and honor what may lie beyond the living world. 
And while Halloween has changed enormously since then, a little of that ancient spirit remains…
 In our remembrance of those who came before us…   In the changing of the seasons…   And in our willingness, even for a night, to make a little more space for mystery.
