Every Sunday evening, Sarah would walk past her old neighbor's gate and stare at the empty driveway. For three years, she and her childhood best friend, David, had been inseparable—until a bitter argument over who dropped a cake broke their friendship. Both of them chose silence over an apology. Tonight, scrolling through Instagram, she saw a video of David at a local bakery in town, proudly opening his very own pastry shop: "Dreams Come True Pastries." Sarah’s fingers hovered over the keyboard. She typed: "Congratulations, David. I always knew you'd do it." Then she deleted it. "Too vulnerable," she whispered to herself, tossing her phone on the bed. 📱💨 Ten minutes later, her doorbell rang. Frowning, she walked to the door and pulled it open. Standing on the porch was David, wearing a flour-dusted apron, holding a warm box of red velvet cupcakes—the exact flavor they used to fight over as kids. 🧁✨ Before she could speak, David smiled sheepishly and said: "I didn't know your new address, but I figured you still loved sugar more than your pride. Are we sharing these, or do I have to eat all of them alone?" Sarah laughed, tears in her eyes, and pulled him into a hug. Moral of the story: Sometimes pride makes us stubborn, but a sweet tooth (and a second chance) brings us right back home. 🥹❤️🥂
