Dear CSMs, On our wishlist this year, we’d like for you to check the help center first. Sincerely, Customer Support

This week, I purposely turned my calendar into a fucking nightmare. The best todo list IS the calendar. If there’s no time made for it, it won’t get done.

Yesterday, during the first few minutes of a call with a customer we literally talked about curly hair maintenance… And that’s on having a diverse team that looks and sounds like your customer. Don’t sleep on this.

Here's a conversation starter for your CS team... Ask your team what "CSM Sentiment" means to them
Wrapped up Startup Week Boston just now! I'm thankful I work for a company that keeps DEI front and center. Shout out to @CatalystIO ❤️
“It’s the ability to give feedback and check ourselves on our journey that helps us out..." @CatalystIO Customer Success Mgr Diana DeJesus says it takes persistent hard work and humility to maintain an inclusive mindset. #SBW2021 #DiversityandInclusion #diversity

Last week, the call that stood out to me the most was an ad-hoc call with a customer. She needed help with a workflow she needed but was concerned it wouldn’t be received well by the team. - We put a solution in place - Outlined a rollout plan - Got her team involved

This is what “customer success” does. Strategic conversations are a must AND there’s these tactical ones that help quickly unblock your customers.

This entire month of September, I’ve decided to take a break for alcohol and wow, I’ve gotten A LOT done. I dropped the ebook yesterday (40 pages 🙌🏽) AND Rode my bike for 23 miles

Finally finally finally finished my ebook on how to land a CSM job 🥳 - shout out my husband for proof-reading - coffee for holding me down - all the failures that made this book possible I’ve been helping folks land a job in CS for the last 1.5 years through my blog

And this ebook is a combination of 1. Content I’ve written 2. Experiences I’ve had during interviews 3. Stories from people I’ve helped This is my first “product” and I’m feeling the nerves but I’m also VERY excited Check it out dianadejesus18.gumroad.com/l…

Needed this today 🙃
If you're at a loss for how to write a conclusion, try broadening the implications of the topic: What will happen when you implement the advice in this piece (or when you don't)? What are the implications for you as a person, your business as a whole, the world at large?
Here's what we don't talk enough about... Being a Customer Success Manager is hard! It reminds me of my waitressing days at a busy NYC restaurant. Every table was booked, some needed my attention more than others. I'm running across the restaurant like a madwoman...

Grabbing food, drinks, silverware, sugar (why are you drinking coffee at 9PM?!) In the end, I wanted my customers to have a great time and an effortless experience. And of course, there's the tab. The main reason why we're in business to begin with.

Being a CSM feels like that sometimes. You're pulled in a million directions, you're communicating internally and you're trying you're best to ensure the customer has a great experience. Every table represents a customer in the CS world.
