27 years ago today, we lost my dad.
Sweetness. The man whose smile could light up a whole city and whose heart never stopped running. Not a day goes by that I don’t miss him.
What keeps me going is seeing how much you all still love him. The stories, the memories, the way you keep his name and spirit alive… it means everything to our family.
Thank you for never forgetting him. Thank you for carrying his legacy with us all these years.
We’re good down here, Pop. The family’s strong, and your Sweetness lives on in every person you touched.

A moment of silence for the legendary Mike Ditka ahead of Bears vs Packers in Green Bay.
Chicago Bears Legend! 🏆🕊🐻⬇️
It’s with a heavy heart that I’m sharing the Ditka family has announced the passing of Mike Ditka this morning.
Da Coach. Hall of Famer. The heartbeat of the ’85 Bears and a Super Bowl champion. Chicago won’t be the same.
Prayers to Diana and the family.
RIP, Coach. 🐻⬇️
Here’s a statement from the family:
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Mike Ditka. While the world knew Mike as a Hall of Fame football player, legendary coach, and leader of the Chicago Bears’ Super Bowl XX championship team, we knew him as the heart of our family. Mike will be missed beyond measure and remembered forever.
With love and gratitude, The Ditka Family

When I got to Chicago in the summer of 1985, Mike Ditka and the Chicago Bears were king. Coach Ditka set the tone for a team that was punishing, dominant, and fun — and the city loved him for it. I'm thinking of the Ditka family and Bears fans everywhere on the passing of a legend.

OTD in 1984, @walterpayton surpassed Jim Brown’s career rushing record of 12,312 yards & broke Brown’s mark for 100-yard rushing games (58), all during a 20-7 win over the #Saints . And yes, that’s me at the start of the vid, sticking my tongue out at the camera! #Bears
