But Halcyon knew I was coming before I did. It knew my routes. It knew what I brought back. It knew enough to find pieces of me I don’t remember losing. I can feel the archive waiting on the other side. Not calling me. Recognizing me. There’s a difference. I keep thinking about what AXION said. Before I let this place tell me who I am— I should find out who taught it my name. So that’s what I’m going to do.

But the more I uncover, the harder it is to ignore the possibility that none of this was accidental. Maybe I wasn’t built to survive this world. Maybe I was built to operate it. Every district reacts like it already knows what I am. Every system I touch seems to be waiting for something. And every component I recover feels less like an upgrade— and more like something being returned to me. I thought I was exploring Tenebris. Then I crossed something. No door. No barrier. Just a line in the tunnel. Everything I had learned. They were extracting it. Not copying files. Harvesting experience. Then the memory cut out. The tunnel came back. The heat stopped. And now there’s one line on my HUD that wasn’t there before: EXPLORATION ARCHIVE // MATCH FOUND... I don’t think Halcyon is remembering me. I think I am remembering what it took.
