I wanted to take a moment to say thank you to everyone who follows the page, DMs me with questions, hangs out on my YouTube show, buys a copy of my magazine, or supports the releases that I work on. This community is INCREDIBLE and I do not ever take it for granted. I put so much work into this because I love it just like you do and I simply want to make work that I would love to see myself.
With it being this time of year, I have had a few people ask this week how they can help support Disc-Connected and the other stuff I do. Links for those are below, but please don't feel obligated or pressured to do anything. Participating in all of this is surreal to me and I do not have ANY expectations for any sort of support from you all.
Ways you can support Disc-Connected and the other stuff I do:
- Become a patron. Go to patreon.com/DiscConnected and sign up at the tier of your choice and participate in the community. I have to pay for a LOT of things out of pocket to keep all of this working and that support goes a long way. Bonus: If you join at the Production Manager tier or higher, you get access to exclusive updates I am giving about the biggest project I have EVER worked on, coming in 2026! CAN NOT WAIT TO SHARE WITH EVERYONE WHAT THAT IS!!
- Change your amazon bookmark. If you are still shopping at Amazon, change your bookmark on your computer and phone to this URL: amzn.to/4bxBP4e
If you click that link before you shop, Amazon gives a tiny amount as a little kickback to me- at no cost to you!
- Buy The Physical Media Advocate magazine that I put out on paperback or digital 10-12X per year. We are particularly proud of the issue that released this month!: l.linklyhq.com/l/1utJN
- Share the stuff I do. Any time you like something I have a hand in making, share the video link, the podcast link, the deal link, etc. When someone asks who to follow for physical media announcements and deals, share my page with them. Don't assume someone else will, share the love everywhere.
- Sign up for the email newsletter on my production company's website. Here, you will find a list of many of the titles we have worked on amongst a ton of other information: someonesfavoriteproductions.…
- Comment! If a movie gets announced and you like it, comment! It reminds people of the page and it comes up in their feed.
- Buy Disc-Connected merch and wear it everywhere!: teepublic.com/user/the-disc-…
- Come on my show! Invite me on your show! Collaborate and grow the community! We all just want to expand our network a bit. DM me or email me at DiscConnected [email protected] if you want to chat on a collaboration.
- Last case , If you just want to Donate:

Note: I will be LIVE on my weekly show #ReConnected just like every other Thursday starting at 9:30p EST. I will be up late covering all of the Black Friday sales and all of the announcements form this last week. Hope to see you there!

Coming on February 22nd on #4K/Blu-ray dual format in the UK from @HammerFilms: #TheManWhoCouldCheatDeath (1959)!
Anton Diffring gives a chilling performance as a monstrous doctor seeking immortality in Jimmy Sangster and Terence Fisher’s visually sumptuous shocker, The Man Who Could Cheat Death, one of the initial run of 1950s Gothics that made Hammer a worldwide byword for horror.
With strong support from Hazel Court and Christopher Lee, The Man Who Could Cheat Death has been painstakingly restored by Hammer in 4K from the original film negatives and includes optional, originally censored scenes thought lost for years.
A doctor and dilettante, Georges Bonner's sculptures are the talk of Belle Époque Parisian society. But Bonner hides a grisly secret: he is over a century old and a serial murderer, kept artificially young by harvesting glands from his unfortunate victims.
Now over six-decades since its original release, this Limited Collector’s edition sees the film available for the first time on UHD in the UK, complete with an exceptional range of recent and archival material.
This Limited Collector’s Edition comprises:
A leather-feel slipcase with debossed foil titling, housing a stylish digipak containing four discs: two UHDs and two Blu-rays, with content duplicated on
both formats.
Rigid inner box featuring new artwork by illustrator and artist Lucas Peverill.
Double-sided poster of original one-sheets and 8 art cards.
Book featuring reproduction of British master make-up artist Roy Ashton's annotated copy of the original shooting script.
Six iterations of The Man Who Could Cheat Death across three aspect ratios (1.37:1 as-filmed, 1.66:1 UK theatrical and 1.85:1 US theatrical) featuring both censored and uncensored scenes.
Brand-new 5.1 mix for each version of the film alongside the original mono film soundtrack.
English, French, Italian, Spanish and German subtitles on each version of the film.
The discs feature:
A comprehensive series of new and archive commentaries across the six iterations with contributions and critical perspectives from Lizbeth Myles, Paul Cornell, Kim Newman, Stephen Jones, Alexandra Heller-Nicholas, Lauren Barnett, John Hamilton, Professor Lucy Bolton, Pamela Hutchinson, Constantine Nasr and Dr. Steve Haberman.
A new programme with Hammer expert Wayne Kinsey, discussing the making of this classic Gothic horror.
A Hideous Concoction: an archive featurette featuring actor and horror expert Jonathan Rigby, who discusses the film and source play.

Coming on January 25th in the UK on separate #4K and Blu-ray releases from @ArrowFilmsVideo: #TheBigHeat (1988)!
After helping John Woo rejuvenate the Hong Kong neo-noir with A Better Tomorrow, producer Tsui Hark would take the genre in a darker and more cynical direction with The Big Heat, a hauntingly visceral and unflinchingly violent thriller, written by future Hard Boiled screenwriter Gordon Chan and featuring a mesmerising central performance by Waise Lee (Bullet in the Head).
Fearing the nerve damage in his right hand could make him a liability in the field, Inspector Wong Wai-Pong (Lee) dejectedly contemplates resigning from the police force. His plans change when his former partner is murdered while in hiding in Malaysia, and he resolves to push through his disability and get to the bottom of the case. Joined by bumbling rookie Lun (Matthew Wong), wry veteran Kam (stunt legend Philip Kwok, Hard Boiled) and weary Malaysian officer Ong (Lionel Lo), their international investigation turns into a hellish journey as they connect the murder to the wealthy Hong Kong business elite, and its sordid links to the city's criminal underworld.
Co-directed by Andrew Kam (Fatal Termination) and Johnnie To (Running Out of Time), and co-starring Chu Kong (The Killer) and Joey Wong (A Chinese Ghost Story), The Big Heat is a fiercely tense concoction of paranoid thriller and Hong Kong neo-noir whose twisted and suspenseful plot and eruptive action scenes rank it among the genre's most memorable entries.

Coming on January 25th in the UK on #4K from @ArrowFilmsVideo: #Freeway Collection (1996/1999)!
Two twisted takes on fairytales brought kicking and screaming into modern day America by maverick writer/director Matthew Bright, Freeway and Freeway II: Confessions of a Trickbaby feature standout early performances from stars Reese Witherspoon (Walk the Line) and Natasha Lyonne (Poker Face).
A pitch-black riff on 'Little Red Riding Hood', Freeway sees delinquent teen Vanessa Lutz (Witherspoon) on the run and heading for her grandmother's house when she meets the silver-tongued Bob Wolverton (Kiefer Sutherland), who might just be the "I-5 Killer" leaving a trail of dead young women along the road. Meanwhile in Freeway II: Confessions of a Trickbaby, teenage sex worker Crystal "White Girl" Van Meter (Lyonne) escapes from juvie with 16-year-old serial killer "Cyclona" in tow and heads for Mexico in a deranged take on 'Hansel and Gretel'.

Coming on January 11th in the UK and January 12th in North America on #4K from @ArrowFilmsVideo: #TheCannonballRun Collection (1981/1984)!
Building on the smash-hit success of Smokey & the Bandit and Hooper, director Hal Needham once again teamed with iconic actor Burt Reynolds for a pair of all-star stunt spectaculars filled with cars, comedy and chaos in The Cannonball Run and The Cannonball Run II! Inspired by the experiences of Needham and writer Brock Yates in a real-life transcontinental auto race, The Cannonball Run sees JJ McClure (Reynolds) and Victor Prinzim (Dom De Luise) as contestants in a free-for-all scramble to see who can drive across America from sea to shining sea in the shortest time possible. No rules, no regulations: fastest time wins. Coming on January 11th in the UK and January 12th in North America on #4K from @ArrowFilmsVideo: #TheBookOfEli (2010)!
SOME WILL KILL TO HAVE IT. HE WILL KILL TO PROTECT IT.
In 2010, directing duo the Hughes Brothers (Menace II Society) delivered The Book of Eli, a stark, visually striking post-apocalyptic western starring Denzel Washington (Training Day) as a lone drifter on a mission through the ruins of America. Blending action, science fiction and religious allegory, the film depicts a world where civilization has collapsed and knowledge has become a precious commodity.
Eli (Washington) has spent thirty years travelling west, protecting a mysterious book that may hold the key to humanity’s survival. When he arrives in a desolate settlement ruled by the ruthless Carnegie (Gary Oldman, True Romance), he finds himself drawn into a deadly struggle for possession of the book. Outnumbered and outgunned, Eli must rely on his faith, resourcefulness and formidable combat skills to continue his journey.
Atmospheric, brutal and packed with spectacular action, The Book of Eli is a stylish dystopian adventure with a thought-provoking heart. Featuring a commanding performance from Washington and a memorably sinister turn from Oldman, it serves up a striking vision of a world in which the written word could determine the fate of civilization.

In the first bundle, start with the 4K UHD release of the anthology horror film TRAPPED ASHES. Written and produced by Deaf Crocodile's Dennis Bartok in 2006, it's a horror-focused look at the darkness at the heart of the Hollywood dream, with segments directed by Joe Dante (GREMLINS, THE HOWLING), Ken Russell (THE DEVILS), Monte Hellman (TWO-LANE BLACKTOP), Sean Cunningham (FRIDAY THE 13th), and John Gaeta (Oscar winner for Visual F/X on THE MATRIX Trilogy), restored in Dolby Vision 4K UHD for the first time!
Next, close the blinds and crank the speakers, because THE 2551 TRILOGY exists in its own strange, savage, beautiful work, shot using silent-film techniques but featuring a raucous, Death Metal + Industrial soundtrack and an underground society populated by a masked underclass. Think Quay Brothers, Jan Švankmajer, Joel-Peter Witkin, ERASERHEAD, MAD GOD, BEGOTTEN and more. Three films plus a fourth disc stuffed with shorts, interviews, BTS, and tons more.
Last but not least, saddle up and join THE SAVAGE HUNT OF KING STAKH, a Belarusian folk-horror film that sears is strange, dark, Gothic imagery into your brain. Restored from original film elements in its 126 minute director's cut.
This bundle is $75 and only available via deafcrocodile.com through November 1st!
