Always great to see another season draw of the @GreekRLF competition. What sustained rugby league development looks like. Congrats to all in Greece who work hard to keep it running.

In the 2017 RLWC, not one game without Australia rated higher than 505,000 on Seven. 1m+ for Eng/Ton is a damn fine audience

Melbourne produced #offsiders spent all of 30 seconds talking about #RLWC2026 despite the opener rating over 1.7m on Aus FTA, by far the highest rating sport of the past week. That’s our ABC! 🖕

England need this. The administrators in the Northern Hemisphere need to know just how miles off we are now. A 'brave' semi-final exit gets us nowhere.

England have struggled in attack on the international stage and then a couple of Aussie/English finally get the ball across the line.

France have just gone in front of Greece to record the biggest World Cup loss to Samoa. For us (Greece) in 2022 it was disappointing but pretty much expected but for the French who are majority Super League players that's a big blowout. #RLWC2026

A huge thank you also to our commentary team, who set the tone from the start of the coverage and coloured in the incredible action on field. “We’ve seen record-breaking audiences for the AFL Grand Final, the NFL at the MCG, an incredible Bathurst 1000 and now the Rugby League World Cup, showcasing the power of Seven’s platform and our ability to bring Australians together for the moments that matter. If you want more rugby league in October and November, there’s nowhere else to look than Seven, 7plus, Triple M and LISTNR.” Seven Network Head of Rugby League World Cup, Lesley Tapsall said: “Opening night captured everything that makes a Rugby League World Cup so special, from the intensity of the Australia-New Zealand clash to the individual stories that emerge when the world’s best players come together on the biggest stage. “Seeing debutant Jack Bostock claim Player of the Match was a great reminder of the moments and stories that make this tournament so compelling," she said. "We cannot wait to bring fans more of that drama and world-class rugby league across the next four weeks.
