It looks like the fighting stopped? For now? Counter-protesters seemed frustrated because they can start a fight and the students in the encampment appear jubilant now. Also, nit sure if the police will go in after all, or if they are awaiting for additional units.

1:50am. CHP and LAPD in tactical gear are lining up. The "counter-protestors" reorganized and rallied behind the police readying for an attack on the encampment. This is making me sick.

This is excellent work. I'll be showing this to my students! 👏

Breed has been frustrating since her days as supervisor. I would hate to see and her tech billionaires gain more access. And they need to be stopped at the Mayor race next year. What about Karen Bass, Mayor of LA?

The Brown admin punishing a professor for "breaking confidentiality" in an article that criticizes the admin is like the cops arresting an ACAB protestor for jaywalking. Doesn't pass the smell test. Please read & sign the petition.

Whatever we learn next, please be clear you can’t understand places like Monterey Park without Asian American Studies research the mainstream generally ignored for years. Tim Fong wrote this book 29 years ago. tupress.temple.edu/books/the…
Here’s a BBC report of the mass shooting in Monterey Park near Lunar New Year festival site because over 3 hours after the incident, I could not find any national news reports from major U.S. print or broadcast media. (LA Times has headline coverage.)
