We traded what David Moyes is doing at Everton for the hideous sub standard Championship slop being served up by Nuno. I will try to remember this harsh lesson in the future.

🗞️It is understood that David Moyes and Everton CEO Angus Kinnear took action against Jack Grealish. Club officials are continuing to investigate before deciding whether further action is required, with discussions likely to involve parent club Manchester City. (@_pauljoyce)

If Thomas Tuchel picks on form, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall deserves to be in the England squad announced on Friday morning. Everton midfielder bossed Newcastle United last night. Brings a winning mindset and intensity - pressing and tackling. Brings a touch of finesse, 2 goals and one assist in 9 Premier League games, glides with the ball. Versatile, can play at 6, 8, 10. Wherever he plays, KDH brings the best out of those around him. Superb discipline: 1 yellow, 3 fouls in 804 minutes. This time last year, KDH served a one-game ban after 5 YC in 6 PL games, two of which were ridiculous (for taking a quick free-kick v LFC and what most people saw as a fair tackle on Kyle Walker-Peters WHUFC). Those were poor decisions by officials but he’s clearly worked on avoiding others. He spoke to David Moyes and coaches at Finch Farm. KDH’s consistency and importance to Moyes is clear: of Everton’s 9 PL games this season, he has played 89, 90, 90, 90, 89, 90, 90, 86, 90. Is 28 too late for an England debut? KDH is at his peak, few English midfielders playing better. Alex Scott (thigh) probably out unless he gets some minutes for Bournemouth v Sparta Prague or Ipswich. Tuchel will doubtless be mindful/respectful of their wishes. Tuchel has strength in midfield, Declan Rice returning to squad, Elliot Anderson totally embedded. Arguably, KDH competing with his club-mate James Garner (played v Czechs in October). It may depend on how Tuchel views these two final Nations League group games: Croatia at Wembley, Spain in Madrid (Metropolitano). Opportunity to reel in Spain (3 pts clear) and finish top, so play runner-up in March quarters. Or experiment. Tuchel has few chances to try out new players like KDH. NB: bound to be some withdrawals. #ENG #EFC

My last post on the Russell Brand trial reached nearly a million people, and my replies were immediately flooded with defenders insisting this was all just a coordinated establishment hit job. Well, week three just concluded at Southwark Crown Court, and the reality has gotten so much worse for anyone trying to defend him. For the last three years, Brand hid behind a podcast microphone, carefully rebranding himself as a humble, persecuted spiritual outsider. He even got baptized right after the criminal allegations broke to complete the transformation. Then he actually had to take the witness stand under oath, and the entire manufactured persona collapsed in real time. When questioned by his own barrister, Brand put on a loud theatrical performance, throwing around words like "badinage" and "loquacious" to charm the jury. But the moment the prosecution stood up to cross-examine him, the swagger completely evaporated into long, excruciating spells of dead silence. The prosecution didn't even need outside witnesses to tear him apart. They simply opened his own 2007 memoir and read his own confessions back to his face. Jurors had to sit there while the court read passages where Brand explicitly wrote that when he wanted a woman, he would "resolutely remove anything that’s in the way, until I possess the object of my desire." They read his own captions bragging about pretending to be effeminate specifically so women would lower their guard and let him into their hotel rooms. Think about that for ten seconds. He put the playbook in writing himself. As the prosecution pointed out in their closing speech, the jury isn't dealing with a media conspiracy. They are looking at six separate women spanning a ten-year timeline between 1999 and 2009. They didn't know each other. They have no personal or financial benefit to gain, and endless online abuse to endure, by having to sit in a criminal court to describe being assaulted. You can build an army of online defenders and hide behind sudden spiritual conversions all you want. But when your own published books describe treating women as objects to be possessed at any cost, the enlightened guru act is completely finished.
