I express my gratitude to the Honorable Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa Majaliwa of the United Republic of #Tanzania for our meeting earlier today. The Prime Minister reaffirmed the Tanzanian Government's commitment to the World Health Organization. We engaged in discussions regarding the collaboration between #WHO and the Tanzanian Government, emphasizing the importance of finalizing the ongoing Universal Health Preparedness Review (#UHPR).

Today, I had the honour of visiting the Parliament of Tanzania to convey my appreciation to the Honorable Speaker @TuliaAckson and my esteemed colleagues for their support in the election of the Regional Director of #WHOAFRO. I sincerely thank @bunge_tz for their warm welcome and for granting me the opportunity to speak before the Parliament.

I feel grateful to have received many messages from leaders, partners, and friends. It’s quite a challenge to reply to each one individually, so I hope this message conveys my sincere appreciation to all of you. It is truly a honour to be elected as the next Regional Director of @WHOAFRO, and I am grateful to the Ministers of Health from Member States for their trust in my capabilities.
