Are there any IRs who have negotiated independent contracts/service agreements with hospitals within the HCA system or done locums with HCA?

We must focus our collective efforts on fostering the development of a standalone specialty that supports future endovascular and interventional surgeons. That begins with defining a surgical practice pattern and culture.

The governance issues we face for #irad in ANZ are universal. But it is clear the worldwide IRs are united in the NEED for changes. Let's hope they are imminent @RANZCRcollege @IRSA_IRs #CIRSE2023

Guess which specialist gets called to perform these procedures?

All citizens who loves their assault weapons should see what police and health care providers see…and they along with the @NRSC @GOP should feel what these families do. That’s a thought and prayer for them.

Art of War: IR Edition
There are certainly a lot of challenges with attempting to do meaningful IR in traditional practices. These posts bring to light a lot of important but generally untouched issues. Don’t sleep on these posts, read them and get ahead of these issues.

I recently came across data on who we spend our time with over the course of our lives.
The insights are simultaneously inspiring and depressing.
Here are 6 graphs everyone needs to see:
Treatment of iliac disease in a long term smoker who presented with claudication. Treated with shockwave and VBX stents.

Off to a good start, CLI patient with non healing wounds. This (atherectomy and angioplasty) plus optimal medical management. Will see him in clinic in 4 weeks. @SIRspecialists @Interventional2

CMS seeks 4.42% physician fee cut in 2023 🫣. While inflation hits 8-9% and our employees have been given 15-20% raises to fight it, @CMSGov needs to raise the physician fees by 5% instead. beckersasc.com/asc-coding-bi…
This is something they don't teach you in medical school or residency. There is no cookbook but there are rules. I have an idea of what a successful IR practice looks like, I have purpose and most importantly, I have had great mentorship throughout my training by IRs who excel.
Recently completed my fellowship at the one and only @MDAndersonNews. I was able to experience every facet of IR, learned a lot and feel enriched thanks to my amazing faculty mentors and PD @jdkubanMD.
What a joke, easy pass…..
A trainee in an integrated IR residency sent me this "IR" job posting:
"Ideal candidate will have the ability to perform procedures in Venous access, GI/GU, biopsies and drainages, PICC lines, Para/thora, LPs, myelograms and arthrograms"
Q 3call...
lol. @SIRRFS @linemonkeymd
I’ve come across quite a few RP IRs saying that they have no incentive to grow the practice because they are salaried employees. There are a handful of IRs locally who have jettisoned their RP group and gone the obl route. This may happen sooner rather than later.
Figured it out — IR numbers dwindle, IRs outside academics end up in OBL/ASC practices to avoid garbage duty (@linemonkeymd), @Rad_Partners /DR groups are forced to give us all privileges for call, we finally get to pick the bones of well rounded IR jobs just in time to retire.
