BREAKING: “I DON’T GIVE A DAMN”! Trump BRAGS that America is making a "freaking fortune" from soaring oil prices while Americans suffer at the gas pump – and admits his own advisers warned him to keep his mouth shut about it! Donald Trump just delivered an astonishing speech in which he openly acknowledged that Americans are hurting from high gas prices, boasted that American oil companies are making hundreds of billions of dollars, and then declared that he didn't care one iota about how it looked. "We're making a freaking fortune!" Trump crowed at a rally in Georgia, after describing the enormous profits he claims American oil and gas companies are raking in because of the war in the Middle East. The funny part is that Trump knew EXACTLY how his remarks would sound to struggling Americans. "My people said, please don't mention that, sir, because people are paying a little higher," Trump told the crowd. But when it comes to the idea of anyone making money, Trump can't resist ... "Our country is making hundreds of billions of dollars because of what's happened in the Middle East," he declared, naming Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana as places benefiting from the oil business. He even claimed the windfall extended to Venezuela and Greenland, boasting that America was making "hundreds and hundreds of billions, trillions of dollars." But who is this “America” person of whom he speaks -- the benfeciary of these trillions? America Ferrara, the actress? Captain America? Amerigo Vespucci? Trump imagined the headlines his remarks would generate, practically writing the criticism himself in a rare flash of self-awareness. "President Trump is talking about all the money they're making while people are suffering at the pump," he said. "That'll be the headline." But Trump never lets us down by not telling us how he really feels. "But I said, I don't give a damn. I'm going to say it. We're making a freaking fortune." Of course, there's a little distinction Trump seems determined to ignore: When oil companies make billions of dollars, that money doesn't magically appear in anyone’s bank account, unless you are an oil executive. The people suffering at the pump AREN’T sharing in any profits. Trump again promised that oil prices would fall dramatically once the war ends, but offered no evidence of how or when that might happen. Trump talks about the oil executives making billions as though their profits were his own personal triumph. He celebrates their windfall with unmistakable enthusiasm and even envy, even as he acknowledges that ordinary Americans are paying the bill for billions in profits. He knows exactly how that sounds. He recited the criticism himself, practically word for word, before announcing that he didn't give a damn. And went right back to bragging about the money. This is not the kind of president America wants or needs. Vote Blue on November 3.

THIS IS HUGE: Dana Bash just pressed Todd Blanche on whether Trump is laying the groundwork to overturn the election, and the attorney general lost his cool Dana Bash asked the question a lot of Americans have been waiting for someone to ask, and Attorney General Todd Blanche came apart on live television. On CNN's State of the Union on Sunday, Bash pressed Blanche on the Justice Department's lawsuit to block certification of the Alaska Senate race if the Republican doesn't win, according to Mediaite. It's a lawsuit Trump himself said was filed at his behest. Bash pointed to Trump's Truth Social post claiming Democrats are trying to steal the seat. She told Blanche the president was admitting it's political, and she asked him straight out whether he sees his job as helping Republicans keep the seat. Blanche didn't have an answer. He snapped back that Trump wasn't admitting anything and that the president is supposed to make sure everything in the country is running right. So Bash widened the lens. She reminded him that just a couple of days earlier, Blanche himself had used the phrase doomsday scenario. Then she asked the question out loud: are Trump and the Justice Department laying the groundwork for a scenario in which Trump tries to overturn the election, with a result that could look like what the country saw after January 6th? Blanche exploded. Oh, stop it, he told her. You are not being a real person. Come on man, that is crazy. Bash didn't flinch. It is not crazy, she said. Blanche insisted the department was only worried about fraud in Alaska. Bash answered him calmly: I wish it wasn't a real question. She kept going anyway. If you're laying the groundwork for the president to try to overturn an election he doesn't like, she said, there is concern. That's the job. A powerful official didn't want to hear it, and she asked it again until he had to respond. Dana Bash did what the best journalists do. She asked the question the attorney general didn't want to answer, and she didn't back down when he got angry. That is what real journalism looks like.
