I don’t actually give that much of a shit about this but I’m genuinely curious. Don’t blind people already have programs that read what’s on the screen to them and this feature would overlap and have 2 voices talking at the same time? Very curious about that
It's an unbelievable thing to see that menu narration is enabled by default in the new Halo game, a feature that caters to blind people. What Halo Studios / 343 is essentially saying is this:
"We need this option on by default because a blind person is incapable of navigating the menu to find and enable it. However, once enabled, they can play the game just fine."
This is the end-state of the inclusive and accessibility mafia. They cater so hard to the edge-case, that they actually make unreasonable defaults to the majority. Why don't they also enable the colorblind filters too? What's the difference?
It doesn't matter that you can "just turn it off" or that it's "no big deal". The fact that they went with that as the DEFAULT is insanity. It shows how warped the frame-of-mind and worldview is of these people. This shows, by proxy, the beurocratic bloat of AAA.
These are the kinds of decisions and infrastructures that kill companies, waste millions, cause layoffs, and I am sick of seeing it. We are not in a gaming crash because of "greed", we are in a crash because of stupid shit like this.
