Dear world,
We are tired.
We are hurting.
We are angry.
But don’t mistake our pain
for surrender.

I have become very good at pretending everything is normal.
I can answer emails during an air raid alert.
I can laugh after a sleepless night.
I can film a video when I’m exhausted.
But I wish I didn’t have to be good at any of this.

The 2016 referendum asked whether Britain should leave the EU.
It didn't ask whether we should leave the Single Market, Customs Union or end Freedom of Movement.
Those were subsequent political choices.
Why do we keep pretending they were all on the ballot paper?

Kohen Wiley’s mom had a receipt for her transaction; she didn’t steal a damn thing.
Even if she did, shoplifting isn’t a fucking capital crime ... stop using it as justification for the police killing a one year old.

I’ve seen some tawdry attempts at political gotchas and takedowns before, but “Why did you take 3 years to report being sexually abused by your stepfather when you were 9?” is about as low as it gets
Hey Amy, you’ve really confused me, and millions like me!
🛑 You said you were sexually abused between the ages of 9 and 12 by your stepfather!
Why didn’t you tell anyone for three years—a schoolteacher, your doctor, Why did you wait three years? Why did your own biological father allow that to happen for all three years? STRANGE!
🛑 You’ve said your mother knew about the sexual abuse. Why would she do that? I mean, what would she gain?
🛑 Your mother is a very well-educated woman with a master’s degree in public administration and worked at Children and Family Associates in one of the first few sexual abuse programs!
How did she end up getting that job helping victims of sexual abuse? I don’t understand!
🛑 Your mother gave an interview calling you a liar and disputing all your claims in June 2020. Why didn’t you respond publicly at that time?
🛑 This is very difficult for me to understand: you said you “did have food to eat.”
🛑 Was your stepfather convicted? Are there any court documents or police reports?
I mean court documents or police reports—NOT A COMMUNITY NOTE, PLEASE!
&
Strangely:
🛑 Where in that ad does your mother say anything about your sexual abuse?
She just denied your claim of living in a tent!
Why did you connect that to your claim of sexual abuse? She never used the words “sexual abuse”—at least in this video!
We all sympathize with any difficulties you’ve gone through.
BUT…
🛑 Why don’t you hold a press conference and explain all this to the people of Ohio and all of us who are concerned?
FINALLY:
🛑 Do you want Ohioans to vote for you just because of your unverified claim of a difficult childhood 50 years ago? 🛑
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Court records corroborate Amy Acton’s account. In 1978, her stepfather, Cledith Arthur, was arrested and indicted by a grand jury on charges of sexually abusing 12-year-old Acton.

If your voter machine took several punches to get the correct candidate selected... or... your name was not on your voter rolls don't let it pass, don't be silent!
☎️The DNC has a National Voter Protection hotline to report any issues! 1-833-336-8683📞
DO NOT LEAVE THE VOTING BOOTH UNTIL YOU ARE SURE THE MACHINE REGISTERED YOUR 'DEMOCRAT' VOTE. Many people are reporting they voted DEMOCRAT and it clicked back to REPUBLICAN. A voter says it took 4 times before it stayed on DEMOCRAT. The fix is in! spotlightpa.org/news/2025/10…

So abortion is bad but a cop can shoot and kill a one year old baby named Kohen Wiley because his mother was suspected of shoplifting diapers. She did not by the way. Where is the pro-life outrage? I’ll wait…forever.

There are so many idiots on here claiming that the nuclear weapons Ukraine surrendered were "Russian, not Ukrainian," or that "Ukraine could never have used them."
Let's set the historical record straight.
When the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991, Ukraine inherited an enormous Soviet military infrastructure, including conventional weapons, armored vehicles, aircraft, strategic missiles, and the world's third-largest nuclear arsenal.
Many Soviet soldiers stationed in Ukraine were themselves Ukrainian and subsequently joined the newly established Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Those weapons weren't simply "Russian weapons." They were part of the military arsenal of a multinational state that no longer existed, left on the territory of a newly independent Ukraine.
Now, about the claim that "Ukraine could never have used them."
Ukraine wasn't some technologically backward country incapable of understanding nuclear weapons.
It possessed one of the Soviet Union's most sophisticated aerospace and missile industries. Ukrainian engineers had helped design and manufacture Soviet strategic missiles, including systems capable of delivering nuclear warheads.
Although Moscow retained central control over the nuclear launch system, that did not mean Ukraine was permanently incapable of developing independent operational control.
Ukraine had the scientists, engineers, industrial infrastructure, and technical expertise to pursue that capability. Whether it could have accomplished this reliably, and at what cost, was a separate question.
And Washington, London, and Moscow took the possibility of a nuclear-armed independent Ukraine seriously enough to make its disarmament a major diplomatic priority.
Ukraine's parliament, the Verkhovna Rada, debated the issue extensively. Some lawmakers argued that Ukraine should retain a nuclear deterrent precisely because they feared future Russian aggression.
Ultimately, Ukraine agreed to surrender its nuclear weapons, joining the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty as a non-nuclear-weapon state and receiving security assurances under the 1994 Budapest Memorandum.
And here we are today.
Russia invaded Ukraine in 2014 and launched a full-scale invasion in 2022.
The very Russian aggression that Ukrainian lawmakers feared when debating whether to surrender their nuclear deterrent became a reality.
You can debate whether Ukraine could have successfully maintained an independent nuclear arsenal. That's a legitimate historical and technical question.
But pretending Ukraine had no claim to the weapons on its territory, no relevant nuclear expertise, and no reason to fear future Russian aggression is a distortion of the historical record.
