People's every day usage of GenAi is undoubtedly a problem, but I feel that it's important to not let that overshadow the fact that 70% of CO2 emissions come from like 100 megacorps that are putting profit over people and destroying the Earth
Like I enjoy most if the @ninjasexparty discography right.
Its well made music, i love comedy music, and I started listening to them in high school so there's nostalgia as well
The new song Going on a Date fucking killed me man, I fucking loved it, it made me laugh so hard 10/10

"Cringe" has become a slur for sincerity, designed to kill joy and talent starting when we're children. Adults need to exorcise it just like any other schoolmarm control word.

No matter how cool any of these vibecoded slop mods look, I'm already so fucking sick of seeing them and it's only been a week. They're EVERYWHERE. "I combined poo with pee and now you can play Poocraft in Peerim" I do NOT care.
I find it interesting that Christian Nationalists have decided that the most important thing Christ ever did was die
Like there's not pages and pages of scripture in every sect of Christianity describing all of the OTHER things Christ was supposed to have done
The temptation to refer to people with barbaric ideals as "sub-human" is very real, but you gotta remember that they ARE human and humans that are not underdeveloped if they believe atrocious things
Do not allow them to absolve themselves of evil through any means
Its deliberate
I forget that @DrAllyLouks is a young person about my age who grew up taking in pop culture, b/c I conflate English academics with professors from the 1950s due to *my* exposure to pop culture
So seeing her use a water hag model from The Witcher 3 feels like a mental flashbang
Zach Cregger does Dead Space/Event Horizon was not something I foresaw, but damn I'm here for it
Jennifer Lawrence will star in Zach Cregger's next film ‘THE FLOOD’.
Reportedly described as ‘2001: A Space Odyssey’ meets ‘Aliens’, the film follows a crew on a space station who discover an alien object that distorts the mind.

Yeah. I mean, other than following the classical Resident Evil formula of starting as relatively grounded horror and gradually escalating into grotesque sci-fi insanity; featuring a bioweapon outbreak as the catalyst; taking place in Raccoon City; culminating in a secret laboratory; featuring zombies, infected dogs, and increasingly bizarre mutant creatures; having its protagonist start with a basic handgun and progressively acquire bigger and more ridiculous weapons; forcing him to scavenge for ammunition and conserve what little he has; making him rummage through drawers for supplies; confronting him with inexplicably elaborate locks; including typewriters, First-Aid Spray, Green Herbs, and other direct references to game items; occasionally switching into first-person and over-the-shoulder perspectives that mimic the games; sending him through rural environments, city streets, underground areas, a hospital, and finally a laboratory; having Umbrella scientists fucking around with biological weapons; and ultimately transforming its protagonist into a giant Bio-weapon that looks exactly like something you’d fight at the end of a Resident Evil game . . .
Yeah, other than all that, it barely had anything to do with the fucking games.
Resident Evil Movie Review
The words Raccoon City and Umbrella Corporation are said a few times during the movie and they are the only things that suggest its stated source material.
Throwing in random visual references to a Typewriter, First Aid Sprays and Padlocks does not make a Resident Evil movie.
What you get instead is a body horror movie featuring mutants out of an entirely different franchise, a nonsensical setting and a host of "characters" that make such bafflingly stupid decisions, that you feel nothing when they inevitably get killed by their own stupidity.
All wrapped up with frequent poor attempts at humour and an ending that's so bizarre and out of place, even in this nonsense movie, that you end up wondering what even was the point of following this character's journey.
If you think that this is a good Resident Evil adaptation or even a good video game adaptation.
Then you need to actually play Resident Evil and realise that this movie isn't even attempting to be Resident Evil or any kind of video game movie.
I do not care for the Game Grumps content where they have a manager person on screen running stuff every
Thats why I stopped watching the Skyward Sword playthrough, and why I skip new 10MPH eps
I much preferred @nessguerrero 's take where she was there but it didnt feel intrusive
Took me longer than i would have liked to internalize this
I figured since I was a poor, queer, autistic kid that I had the same struggle as my comparators of color
Then I discovered tht not only did POC struggle with those things, but also marginalization bc of their ethnicity
Just saw #ResidentEvil
And I was correct in being hype for it
- That movie fucks
- Zach Cregger deserves the praise for his writing and direction
- the effects team deserves awards
- That movie fucks
